천연염료를 이용한 회화적 표현방법 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 회화에서 쓰이는 유화나 아크릴의 사용이 어느 순간 답답함을 느낌으로 시작되었다. 회화에 사용되는 안료는 일반적으로 기성품으로 판매되고 있는 것을 사용한다. 기성품으로 판매되는 안료의 사용은 표현방법과 재료가 서로 이질적인 위치에 놓여있다고 느꼈고, 재료마다 일반화된 가공으로 인해 숨을 쉬지 않는다고 여겨졌다. 이에 자연스러운 것은 무엇이며 작품이 숨을 쉰다는 것은 무엇인지에 대한 고찰을 하게 됐다. 본 논문은 자연과 자연스러움에 대한 이론적 바탕을 토대로 작품이 숨을 쉬는 것은 무엇인지에 대한 연구로 진행되어진다. 이에 방법적 측면과 재료적 측면을 연구였으며, 방법적 측면에서 표현방법으로 물들이기, 스며들기를 연구함으로써 회화적 표현방법에 대한 가능성을 알아보고, 재료적 측면에서 천연염료를 통해 재료의 숨쉬는 것에 대한 가능성을 연구하였다. 이 과정에서 표현과 재료가 서로 이질적인 부분으로 놓여있는 것이 아닌 두가지가 유기적으로 호흡하며 어우러지는 것을 목적으로 두고 있으며, 또한 감상자가 작품을 보고 재료에 대한 사유를 가능하게 함으로써 시작과 과정, 결과까지 자연스러운 사고의 순환을 이끌어 낸다. 따라서 이 모든 과정이 작업의 일부가 되어 숨을 쉰다는 것에 대한 예술적 가치를 밝히는 목적을 두고 있다. 일정하게 가공된 안료나 소재가 아닌 자연에서 얻을 수 있는 날것, 즉 순수한 재료를 사용했으며, 이것에 대한 모든 초점은 작품을 중심으로 숨을 쉬는 것에 대한 고찰로 진행되어진다. 자연에서 얻은 재료로 만들어진 천연소재를 선택하고, 또한 천연염료를 만들고 만든 염료로 그림을 그리고, 그려진 그림은 세월이 지나면 자연스럽게 썩어 다시 자연으로 돌아가게 된다. 순환은 자연스러운 것이며 이 모든 과정에서 인위적인 것이 주는 답답함이 아니라 숨이 쉬어지는 것에 대한 사유를 가능하게 함으로써 연구작품에 사용된 모든 재료가 자연스러움을 토대로 작가의 의도를 표출하였다. 결과적으로 방법면에서 물들이기, 스며들기와 재료적 측면에서 천연염료의 사용을 통해 작품이 숨을 쉰다는 것에 대한 뒷받침을 이끌어내며, 회화적 표현방법에 대한 새로운 관점을 제시하고자 한다. 특히 표현방법에서 천연염색 기법에 대해 알아보고 그 중에서 식물성 염료와 식물성 소재로 한정하여 감상자로 하여금 자연하면 연상되는 숲, 식물을 시각화 하고자 하였다. 자연의 자연스러운 순환에 대한 사유를 이끌어내고자 함이며, 자연에서 얻은 재료를 이용해 자연스러운 색감과 표현방식을 통해 본연의 가치에 대한 순수성에 기여하고자 한다. 그로 인해 연구자만의 천연염료 추출방법으로 스며들기 기법을 이용한 작품을 중심으로 숨을 쉬는 작품에 대한 새로운 회화적 표현방법을 기대하고자 한다. ;The purpose of the study began with the feeling that the oil painting or acrylic used in painting felt stuffy at some point. Ready-made pigments were used in paintings. This is because there is heterogineity between the method of expression and the characteristics of ready-made pigments. And different kinds of ingredients were processed in general way, so it eventually prevents ingredients to express their own characteristics and breathe in itself. Therefore, it leaded to the consideration of the definition of being natural and what it means that art work breathes. This study is conducted as a study on what works breathe based on the theoretical basis of nature and naturalness. Accordingly, the possibility of painting expression method was investigated by studying method and material aspect, and the possibility of breathing materials through natural dyes was studied by studying coloration and permeation by method. In this process, expressions and materials are not placed in heterogeneous parts, but two things are organically breathed and harmonized, and the viewer can see the work and think about the material, leading to a natural cycle of thinking from start, process, and result. Therefore, the purpose of this whole process is to reveal the artistic value of breathing as part of the work. It uses raw materials that can be obtained from nature, or pure materials, rather than consistently processed pigments or materials, and all of its focus is on considering breathing around the work. It selects natural materials made from materials obtained from nature, also makes natural dyes and paints with dyes made, and the painted paintings naturally decay over time and return to nature. Circulation is natural, and all the materials used in the research work expressed the artist's intention based on the naturalness by enabling the thought of breathing, not the frustration of artificial things in all these processes. As a result, we intend to provide a new perspective on the pictorial expression method by drawing support for the breathing of works through the use of natural dyes in terms of color, permeation, and material. In particular, we investigated natural dyeing techniques in expression methods, and among them, we tried to visualize forests and plants that are reminiscent of nature by limiting them to vegetable dyes and vegetable materials. It is intended to derive thoughts on the natural cycle of nature, and to contribute to the purity of its original value through natural colors and expression methods using materials obtained from nature. For this reason, we would like to expect a new pictorial expression method for works that breathe around works using permeation techniques as a researcher's own natural dye extraction method.
