폴드북을 활용한 다시점 이미지 표현

Abstract

본 논문은 책 형태 중 폴드북 구조를 활용해 다시점을 표현하는 디자인 작품 논문이다. 연구자는 다양한 시점으로 사물, 풍경, 서사적 이야기를 사진으로 재조합하여 입체적인 폴드북을 제작하고자 하였다.이론적 배경에서는 폴드북의 특징과 응용 가능한 다양한 접지방식에 대해서 살펴보았다. 폴드북의 구조 중에서 아코디언, 콘서티나, 게이트 폴드를 활용했다. 폴드북이 펼쳐지는 방향에 따라서 다양한 시점이 표현 가능했다. 또한, 입체적인 공간과 시간의 흐름을 동시에 보여줄 수 있었으며 움직이는 시점, 이야기의 연결성을 보존할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 이런 구조를 통해 독자들은 단행본보다 입체적이고 자유로운 변형으로 다양한 관찰과 해석을 경험할 수 있다. 폴드북에 들어가는 이미지를 표현하는 방식을 다양한 시점으로 이미지를 사진으로 해체하고 재조합하였다. 다양한 시점으로 펼쳐진 이미지들을 경험한 독자들은 고정관념을 환기시키고 새로운 시각적 경험을 할 수 있을 것을 기대하며 이를 작품 사례들을 통해 분석하고 연구하여 작품 작업에 적용했다. 본 논문의 작품 과정은 표현의 대상을 관찰하고 사진으로 해체 또는 분리하여 폴드북이라는 프레임에 재조합하는 것이다. 그리고 이 과정에서 시점에 따라 폴드북의 구조를 선택하여 어떻게 시각적으로 전달할 것인지에 대해 적용하고 최종 제작한다.이 작품들은 사진으로 구성한다. 선택한 표현 대상을 확대 관찰하고 파편화 시킨 후 폴더북에 재조합한다. 이를 통해 다양한 시점과 공간의 입체성, 시간의 흐름을 보여줄 수 있다. 결론적으로 분석과 작품연구를 통해 책이 종합적인 시각 표현 수단으로써 다양한 표현이 가능한 입체적인 매체이며, 디자인의 다양함을 보여주고자 한다. 또한, 이를 감상 또는 관찰하는 독자에게는 일상에서 겪을 수 없는 새로운 경험과 고정관념을 벗어난 다양한 인식을 심어주고자 하였다.;This study is a design work paper that expresses multiple viewpoints using the foldbook structure among different types of book structure.The objective of this paper is to produce a three-dimensional foldbook by recombining objects, landscapes, and narrative stories into photos from various perspectives. In the theoretical background, it is mainly focused on the characteristics of the foldbook and various applicable grounding methods. Three different types of the foldbook structures were used which include accordion, concertina and gatefold. It expresses various perspectives depending on the direction in which the foldbook is unfolded.In addition, it shows the three dimensional space and the flow of time at the same time as well as the connectivity of the moving time and story. Since the foldbook structure is more three dimensional than book and it can be freely transformed, it allows the reader to experience various observations and interpretations. The method of expressing the image entering the foldbook was dismantled and recombined into pictures from various perspectives. The readers who have experienced images unfolded from various perspectives expected to be able to evoke stereotypes and have a new visual experience, and analyzed, studied, and applied them to their work. The work process of this paper is to observe the object of expression and dismantle or separate it into pictures and recombine them into a frame called a foldbook. In this process, the structure of the foldbook is selected according to the view point, and the structure is tested and finally produced on how to deliver it visually. These works consist of photographs. The selected expression object is enlarged, fragmented, and then recombined in the foldbook. Through this, it is possible to show the three dimensionality, various viewpoints and spaces, and the flow of time. In conclusion, through analysis and research on works, the book is a three dimensional medium that can be expressed in various ways as a comprehensive means of visual expression, and it is intended to show the diversity of designs. In addition, it was intended to instill various perceptions beyond new experience and stereotypes that cannot be experienced in everyday life to readers who appreciate or observe them.
