Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 리싸이틀에 연주되었던 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) 의 Violin Sonata No. 18 in G major, K. 301, Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) 의 Scherzo for Violin and Piano in c minor (from the F.A.E Sonata), op. Posthumous, Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) 의 Violin Sonata for Piano and Violin No.3 in E♭ Major op.12 세 작품을 연구 한 것으로, 작곡가의 생애, 작곡된 시대의 특성과 음악적 특징에 대하여 연구하여 작곡가의 의도를 바르게 이해하기 위함을 목적으로 한다. 모차르트(Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1756-1791)는 37개의 피아노와 바이올린을 위한 소나타를 작곡하였다. Mozart 소나타는 초기 중기 후기로 나눌 수 있는데 초기의 소나타에서는 피아노의 선율에 바이올린의 반주가 붙은 형태인 반면 중기와 후기로 갈수록 점차적으로 바이올린의 역할이 커지고 독립적인 구조를 갖게된다. 바이올린 소나타 18번은 만하임(Mannheim) 소나타 또는 팔라틴(Palatine) 소나타라고도 불리는 18번(K. 301)에서 23번(K. 306)까지 여섯 개의 바이올린 소나타 작품 중 첫 번째 곡이다. 이 곡은 두 개의 악장으로 구성되어 있는데 제 1악장은 소나타 형식이고 제 2악장은 론도 형식을 따르고 있다. 후기 낭만주의 음악을 대표하는 작곡가인 브람스 (Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)는 바흐, 베토벤과 함께 독일을 대표하는 3대 작곡가로 불리기도 한다. 브람스는 오페라와 발레음악을 제외한 다수의 피아노곡, 실내악, 교향악, 성악, 합창곡 등 모든 분야의 음악을 작곡했다. 이 곡은 클라라 슈만, 슈만의 제자 디트리히, 브람스가 19세기 당대 최고의 바이올리니스트이자 그들의 친한 친구였던 요제프 요하임을 위해 작곡한 소나타 중 3악장에 해당되는 곡이다. 소나타 부제인 F.A.E는 Frei Aber Einsam 의 약자로 ‘자유롭게 하지만 고독하게’ 라는 요하임의 좌우명을 의미한다. 당대에는 F.A.E 소나타 중 한 악장에 속하는 곡이었지만 현대에는 독립된 Scherzo로 자주 연주된다. 하이든과 모차르트와 함께 빈 고전파의 3대 작곡가로 인정받는 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)은 30여 개에 달하는 피아노와 바이올린을 위한 이중주곡을 작곡하였다. 그 중 바이올린 소나타라는 장르에 속한 곡은 총 20여 개인데, 출판이 되지 않았거나 미완성된 곡을 제외하고 정상적으로 번호가 붙은 바이올린 소나타는 총 10곡이다. 소나타 3번은 베토벤의 나이가 27-28살 무렵인 1797-1798년에 작곡되었다. 이 곡은 베토벤의 어린시절 스승이었던 빈 궁정악단 지휘자 살리에리에게 헌정되었던 곡이다. ;This paper is a study of three music works: Violin Sonata no.18 in G major (K.301) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), Scherzo for Violin and Piano in C minor (from the F.A.E Sonata) op. Posthumous by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897), and Violin Sonata for Piano and Violin No.3 in E flat Major, Op.12 by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). that I played for my master's degree recital. The purpose of this study is to understand the composer's intentions by studying the life of the composer, the characteristics of composed time and the musical characteristics. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) wrote thirty-seven sonatas for pianos and violins. Mozart sonata can be divided into early, middle, and late periods. In the early sonata, the melody of the piano is accompanied by the violin part. In the middle and late stages, the role of the violin gradually increased and became independent. Violin Sonata No. 18 is the first of six violin sonata pieces from No. 18 (K.301) to No. 23 (K.306), called Mannheim Sonatas or Palatine Sonata. The sonata consists of two movements, the first movement being sonata allegro form and the second movement rondo form. Johannes Brahms (1833-1897), a leading composer of post-romantic music, was also one of Germany's three leading composers along with Bach and Beethoven. Brahms had composed a number of piano music, chamber music, symphony, vocal music, choral music, and all other fields except opera and ballet music. The Scherzo is the third movement of F.A.E sonata written by Clara Schumann, Schumann's pupil, Dietrich, and Brahms for Josef Joachim, the best violinist of the 19th century and their close friend. F.A.E, a subtitle of sonata, stands for ‘Frei Aber Einsam’, which translates to Joachim's motto, 'Free but lonely'. Although the scherzo is one of the movements of F.A.E sonata, it is often played independently. Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), recognized as Vienna's top three composers, together with Haydn and Mozart, had written more than thirty duets for piano and violin. Among them, there are approximately twenty pieces belonging to the genre violin sonata. A total of ten violin sonatas are numbered, excluding unpublished or unfinished pieces. Sonata No.3 was composed in 1797-1798, when Beethoven was about twenty-seven to twenty-eight years old. This piece was dedicated to Antonio Salieri (1750-1825), Beethoven's childhood teacher and Vienna court orchestra conductor.
