부모의 신체에 대한 놀림과 사회부과적 완벽주의가 신체왜곡을 통해 여대생의 이상섭식행동에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 만 19세에서 만 29세 사이의 여대생을 대상으로 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림과 사회부과적 완벽주의가 이상섭식행동에 미치는 직접적인 영향과 신체왜곡을 통한 간접적인 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 대학에 재학중인 여대생 276명을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였고 질문지법을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림은 Tantleff-Dunn 등(1995)이 개발하고 김은하 등(2016)이 한국어로 번안한 외모에 대한 피드백 척도(Feedback on Physical Appearance Scale)를 사용하여 신체에 대한 어머니와 아버지의 놀림의 정도에 대해 각각 응답하도록 하였다. 사회부과적 완벽주의는 Hewitt와 Flett(1991)이 개발한 다차원적 완벽주의 척도(Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale; HMPS)를 한기연(1993)이 한국어로 번안 및 타당화한 질문지를 사용하여 하위요인 중 사회부과적 완벽주의에 해당하는 문항을 사용하였다. 신체왜곡은 Littleton 등(2001)이 개발한 간편 신체왜곡 질문지(The Brief Body Dysmorphic Questionnaire)를 문정신(2002)이 번안한 질문지를 사용하여 측정하였으며, 이상섭식행동은 Garner와 Garfinkel(1979)이 개발하고 이민규 등(1988)이 한국어로 번안 및 타당화한 단축형 식사태도검사(Eating Attitudes Test-26; EAT-26)를 사용하여 측정하였다. 수집된 자료들은 SPSS 22.0을 사용하여 기술통계 분석과 상관관계 분석을 하였으며, AMOS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림, 사회부과적 완벽주의, 신체왜곡이 이상섭식행동에 미치는 경로를 설정한 다음 구조방정식 모형을 분석하였다. 또한 간접효과의 유의성을 살펴보기 위해 부트스트래핑(bootstrapping)방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 대한 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림이 이상섭식행동에 미치는 직접적인 영향은 유의하였다. 즉, 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림을 많이 경험할수록 여대생의 이상섭식행동의 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림은 신체왜곡을 통해 이상섭식행동에 미치는 간접적인 영향은 유의하였다. 즉, 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림을 많이 경험할수록 신체왜곡의 수준이 높았고, 이상섭식행동의 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 사회부과적 완벽주의가 이상섭식행동에 미치는 직접적인 영향은 유의하지 않았으며 사회부과적 완벽주의가 신체왜곡을 통해 이상섭식행동에 미치는 간접적인 영향은 유의하였다. 즉, 사회부과적 완벽주의 성향을 가지고 있을수록 신체왜곡의 수준이 높았고 이상섭식행동의 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림과 사회부과적 완벽주의가 신체왜곡을 통해 이상섭식행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써, 이상섭식행동에 영향을 미치는 부모의 신체에 대한 놀림, 사회부과적 완벽주의, 신체왜곡의 역할을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이상섭식행동에 있어 신체에 대한 인지적 측면의 중요성을 발견할 수 있었다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 이상섭식행동으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 여대생들에게 도움이 될 수 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.;The main purpose of this study was to examine the direct effects of parent's body-related teasing, socially prescribed perfectionism on disordered eating behaviors of female university students and the indirect effects through body distortion. A total of 276 female university students participated in this study and completed a self-report questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlations, structural equation modeling(SEM) using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 23.0. The results of the study are as follows; First, parent's body-related teasing had direct effects on disordered eating behaviors of female university students. Female university students' who strongly perceived parent's body-related teasing showed higher level of disordered eating behavior. Second, parent's body-related teasing had indirect effects on disordered eating behaviors of female university students through body distortion. Female university students' who strongly perceived parent's body-related teasing had higher level of body distortion and showed disordered eating behavior. Lastly, socially prescribed perfectionism had indirect effects on disordered eating behaviors of female university students through body distortion. Female university students with high level of socially prescribed perfectionism had higher level of body distortion and showed disordered eating behavior. In conclusion, this research examined the direct effect of parent's body-related teasing and socially prescribed perfectionism on disordered eating behaviors of female university students as well as indirect effect through body distortion. Also, this study identified the importance of body distortion on disordered eating behaviors of female university students. These result could be used as basic data to help female university students who have experienced disordered eating behaviors.
