트랜스포머블 어반테크웨어 디자인 연구

Abstract

다변화하는 시대 속에서 현대인들은 시시각각의 변화를 경험하며 살아가고 있다. 변화가 일상이 되어가는 사회 속에서 패션 역시 그에 맞게 변화하고 있다. 개인은 더 이상 디자이너의 계산된 영역에서 단순한 의복의 수용자가 아닌 개인의 취향과 상황에 맞게 자기를 표현 할 수 있는 능동적 착용자를 원하기 시작했다. 이러한 변화와 더불어 어떠한 가치가 내제 되어 있는 의복인지 역시 구매 동기에 중요한 역할을 하게 되었다. 이러한 흐름을 바탕으로 고정관념에서 벗어나 자신만의 가치와 표현을 다양하게 할 수 있는 다기능, 다목적 트랜스포머블 패션은 관심의 대상이다. 이와 더불어 개인을 외부 환경으로부터 보호해 줄 수 있는 어반테크웨어는 다양한 가치를 가지고 최근 트렌드로 부상하고 있다. 오래전부터 깊은 역사를 자랑하는 룩은 아니지만, 기능적 우수성과 심미적 요소가 균형을 이루며 빠르게 성장하고 있어 발전의 추이가 기대되어진다. 따라서 본 연구자는 착용자 각자의 상황에 맞게 변화 할 수 있는 트랜스포머블 패션을 기능적이고 심미적인 테크웨어 영역에서 구현하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 테크웨어는 최근에 보여지는 트렌드로 깊이는 역사를 가지고 있지 않아 이에 대한 연구는 미비한 상황이다. 트랜스포머블 패션은 지속적으로 연구되어지고 있지만 국내 사례들의 경우 아이템 내의 변화 혹은 아이템 간 전환이 보여지더라도 케이프에서 원피스로 변화하는 것과 같이 길이와 형태 중심적인 변화로 예측 가능한 변형이 대부분이었다. 이에 본연구자는 국내외 사례가 미비한 테크웨어 영역과 트랜스포머블 패션을 접목하고 아이템 간 전환이 중점적으로 보여지는 디자인을 진행하는 것에 의의를 둔다. 본 연구에서는 트랜스포머블 패션의 개념과 형성 배경을 살펴보고 선행 연구들을 토대로 트랜스포머블의 유형을 아이템 내 변화와 아이템 간 전환으로 분류한 후, 변화를 주는 요소와 구현 방법에 대해 구체화하고자 하였다. 변화를 주는 요소에는 실루엣, 색채 및 재질, 디테일, 아이템과 같은 요소들이 보여지고 변화를 구현하는 방법은 리버시블, 리무버블, 레이어드, 착용 위치 이동으로 구분이 가능하였다. 이를 토대로 최근 컬렉션에서 보여 지는 트랜스포머블 패션 디자인사례들을 살펴보며 어떠한 유형과 방법을 통해 변화가 이루어지는지를 구체적으로 알아보았다. 다음으로는 어반테크웨어의 개념과 형성 배경에 대한 조사를 통해 테크웨어란 기존 아웃도어 분야에서 사용 하던 기능성 소재를 일상생활에서도 자유롭게 착용할 수 있는 디자인으로 재해석한 스타일임을 선행연구들을 통해 확인하고 테크웨어의 근간에는 밀리터리웨어, 아웃도어웨어, 사이버펑크, 테크노오리엔탈리즘이 녹아져있음을 살펴보았다. 레이어링 시스템이 바탕이 된 테크웨어의 구성 및 아이템을 정리하고, 테크웨어가 가지고 있는 특성들을 기능성, 수납성, 실용적 디테일, 중첩성으로 분석한 후 이러한 특징들이 나타난 테크웨어 패션 디자인 사례를 살펴보며 테크웨어의 흐름을 알아보았다. 이러한 연구를 바탕으로 작품 제작을 한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 트랜스포머블 패션 구현 방법들 중에서 리버시블, 리무버블, 착용 위치의 이동을 응용하여 작품을 제작하였으며 리버시블을 통해서는 편리하게 색채의 변화가 가능했고 리무버블을 통해서는 디테일부터 시작해 전체적인 실루엣의 변화와 아이템 간의 전환도 이룰 수 있었다. 착용 위치의 이동을 통해서는 아이템이 가지고 있던 기존의 목적과 다르게 사용함으로써 다기능 다목적 패션으로 나아 갈 수 있었다. 본 연구자는 이러한 트랜스포머블 패션 구현 방법을 한 아이템 내에서 단일적으로 사용하지 않고 복합적으로 활용해 점퍼가 팬츠 혹은 원피스로, 베스트가 스커트 혹은 소매나 가방으로, 주머니가 후드로 변화하는 것과 같이 예측하기 어려운 독창적인 아이템 간의 전환을 이룰 수 있었다. 둘째, 변화를 주는 도구로 방수지퍼를 활용함으로써 연결과 분리 시 여유 공간이 있지 않아 내부의 수납이 안정적으로 가능해 기능적인 효과를 누릴 수 있었고 디자인과 어울리는 지퍼를 선택해 장식적인 효과를 나타낼 수 있었다. 착용자의 능동적인 참여를 통해 지퍼를 분리 또는 연결 시켜 개인의 상황과 취향에 맞는 다양한 트랜스포머블 패션으로 나아갈 수 있었다. 셋째, 어반테크웨어의 특성을 소재의 기능성, 디테일의 실용성, 아이템의 중첩성으로 도출할 수 있었다. 아웃도어라는 한정적 영역에서 주로 사용되었던 고어텍스 소재를 일상복으로 가져옴으로써, 기능성 소재의 활용 범위를 넓힐 수 있었다. 고어텍스라는 소재를 통해 기후 대응 능력 및 활동성과 같은 기능적인 측면을 높일 수 있었다. 주머니, 지퍼, 마그네틱 등의 디테일들을 이용해 실용적이고 착용자 중심적 디자인을 할 수 있었다. 각각의 작품에서 다양한 아이템을 구성해 레이어링이 가능했고 이를 통해 아이템의 중첩적인 특성이 드러날 수 있었다. 넷째, 다목적 다기능 트랜스포머블 패션과 테크웨어의 영역을 접목시킴으로써 개인은 단순한 의복의 수용자가 아니라 참여 가능한 능동적 착용자가 되었고 의복의 중심이 디자이너가 아닌 착용자로 변화하는 관점의 전환을 이룰 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 트랜스포머블 어반테크웨어가 미래지향적인 디자인이자 발전 가치가 있음을 할 수 있었다. 연구사례가 미비한 테크웨어의 영역과 예측 가능한 변화가 주를 이뤘던 트랜스포머블 패션의 영역에 예측하기 어려운 독창적이고 웨어러블한 트랜스포머블 디자인을 창출했다는데 차별성이 있다. ;In this age of diversification, modern people experience minute-by-minute changes, and fashion adapts accordingly in a society where change is becoming a daily routine. In such an environment, individuals who live by various roles each day began to actively express themselves according to individuals' tastes and situations, not clothing inmates in the designer's tastes. Furthermore, along with these changes, the value inherent in clothing also started to play an essential role in the motivation for consumption. Based on this trend, multifunctional transformable fashion, which varies in its values and expressions beyond stereotypes, has become an intriguing topic. In addition, Urban Techwear, which can well protect from the external environment, has also emerged as a recent trend with various values. Although it is not a traditional look that has been in the market for a long time, Urban Techwear has been rapidly growing with the balance of functional excellence and aesthetic elements and is expected to continue to grow. As a result, this research intends to implement the changes that could adapt to the individual's particular environmental desires through Transformable Urban Techwear design. This study examines transformable fashions' concept and formation background and embodies the type and implementation of Transformable based on prior studies. We analyze the examples shown in the recent fashion collection and examine the direction in which decentralized transformable fashion breaks down the boundaries of items through flexible thinking. Next, we examine the concept and formation background of the technology, organize the composition and characteristics of the urban technology, and analyze the technology features. At last, we take a look at how the characteristics of techwear are expressed in modern fashion. Based on these studies, the results of the production are as follows. First, among the methods of implementing transformable fashion, the work was produced through applying the work of reversible, removable, and wearable positions. The remover made it convenient to change colors, start with details, and achieve overall changes in silhouette and transitions between items. Through the change of the wearing position, it was possible to move forward to multifunctional multipurpose fashion by transitioning from the item's original purpose. The researcher was able to use this method of transformable fashion in a complex way, not single use within an item, to make transitions between unpredictable and original items such as jumpers pants or dresses, vests to sleeves or bags, or pockets to hoodies. Second, using a waterproof zipper as a tool to make changes, there was no room for connection and separation, so internal storage was stable, allowing users to enjoy functional effects and display decorative effects by choosing a zipper that matched the design. Through the active participation of the wearer, the zipper could be separated or connected to various transformable fashion that suits the individual's situation and taste. Third, the research derived characteristics of Urban Techwear through the material's functionality, the practicality of the details, and the overlap of the items. By bringing Gore-Tex materials, mainly used in the limited outdoor area, into everyday wear, the scope of utilization of functional materials was expanded. The Gore-Tex material has enabled us to increase functional aspects such as climate response capability and activity. Details such as pockets, zippers, and magnets were used to create practical and wearer-oriented designs. Various items were organized and layered in each work, which allowed the overlapping characteristics of the items to be revealed. Fourth, by combining multipurpose, multifunctional transformable fashion and technology, individuals became active wearers who could adapt in different environments rather than recipients of simple clothing, and the center of clothing changed to the wearer, not the designer. Thus, the research concludes that Transformable Urban Techwear is a future-oriented design and has development value. It is unique that it has created original and wearable transformable designs that are difficult to predict in technology with insufficient research cases and in the areas of Transformable Fashion where predictable changes were frequent.
