G. Bizet의 오페라 Carmen과 P. Sarasate의 Carmen Fantasy 비교연구

Abstract

19세기 낭만주의 시대 후반부의 음악의 특징을 살펴보면, 음의 색채적인 상징 효과를 강조하여 감각적인 즐거움을 증대시키고 기능화성의 확대를 추구하였다. 오페라에도 이러한 요소를 도입하여 풍부한 멜로디와 화성을 볼 수 있다. 또한, 자유로운 음악 형식과 함께 악기 기술의 발전으로 곡에서 더욱 다양한 악기편성을 할 수 있었다. 작곡가들은 여러 가지 장르로 편곡하여 오페라를 소개하거나 원작 오페라에서 발췌하여 하나의 짧은 곡으로 완성하여서 극장 밖 많은 무대에서 연주되었다. 작곡가들은 여러 가지 장르로 편곡하여 오페라를 소개하거나 원작 오페라에서 발췌하여 하나의 짧은 곡으로 완성하기도 하였다. 낭만주의 성격에 맞게 더욱 자유롭고 즉흥적인 환상곡이 가장 활발하게 작곡되었던 시기이기도 하다. 본 논문은 19세기 낭만주의 시대를 대표하는 작곡가 중 한 사람인 Bizet의 오페라 ‘Carmen’이 초연되고 상연된 동시대에 활약한 바이올리니스트 겸 작곡가인 Sarasate의 ‘Carmen Fantasy’를 연구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 Bizet의 오페라 ‘Carmen’을 자세하게 분석하며, ‘Carmen Fantasy’에 대한 여러 문헌을 조사하는 것을 통하여 ‘Carmen Fantasy’에 나타난 새로운 기악적 요소와 연주기법에 대해서도 분석한다. 기존 연구를 살펴보면, 원작 Bizet의 오페라 ‘Carmen’을 편곡한 곡들을 비교 분석한 연구는 다수가 있지만 원작 오페라와의 차이점에 대해 연구한 것은 다소 미흡하다. Sarasate의 ‘Carmen Fantasy’는 오페라 ‘Carmen’에 기반을 두고 작곡되었기 때문에 두 작품을 자세하게 비교 분석하는 것이 ‘Carmen Fantasy’의 이해와 연주에 도움이 되기를 희망한다.;This paper compares the opera 'Carmen' by G. Bizet, one of the composers representing the 19th century romantic era, and the 'Carmen Fantasy' by P. Sarasate, a violinist and composer who was active in the contemporary era. To this end, it analyzes Bizet's opera 'Carmen' in detail, and analyzes the new instrumental elements and performance techniques in 'Carmen Fantasy' by examining various literatures on 'Carmen Fantasy'. Looking at the existing studies, there have been many studies comparing and analyzing musics arranged for the original Bizet opera 'Carmen', but research on the differences from the original opera is insufficient. Since Sarasate's 'Carmen Fantasy' was composed based on the opera ‘Carmen’, I hope that detailed comparative analysis of the two musics will help us to understand and perform the music 'Carmen Fantasy'.
