Program Annotation : R. Schumann 「Dichterliebe, Op.48」중 「No. 1, 4, 5, 10」, L. v. Beethoven 「Cello Sonata No.3 in A Major, Op.69」, 김순애 「그대있음에」, C. Gounod 「Sérénade」

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사 졸업 연주 프로그램인 「Dichterliebe, Op.48」 중「Im wundershönen Monat Mai」, 「Wenn ich in deine Augen she」, 「Ich will meine Seele tauchen」, 「Hör' ich das Liedchen klingen」, L. v. Beethoven 「Cello Sonata No.3, Op.69」, 김순애 「그대 있음에>, C. Gounod 「Sérénade」의 작품에 대한 작품해설이다. 슈만(Robert Alexander Schumann, 1810-1856)은 19세기의 작곡가로서 이전 형식에서 벗어난 화성과, 리듬을 사용하여 자유로운 음악 형식을 만들었으며 음악과 시의 결합을 통해 시의 내용이 돋보이도록 작곡하였다. 작품 「Dichterliebe, Op.48」은 총 16개의 곡으로 구성된 슈만의 연가곡이다. 이 작품은 전주와 후주에서 다양한 화성과 못갖춘마디의 사용으로 악곡의 분위기를 조성하고 시의 분위기와 반주가 함께 진행하여 성악 선율을 극대화한다. 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)은 초기 하이든(Franz Joseph Haydn, 1732-1809)과 모차르트(Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1756-1791)의 영향을 받아 고전주의의 소나타 형식을 사용하였으며, 이후 틀을 벗어나 개성을 표현하고 자유로운 형식으로 작곡한다. 베토벤은 총 5곡의 첼로 소나타를 작곡하였으며 그 중 「Cello Sonata No.3, Op.69」곡은 베토벤의 1808년에 작곡된 곡으로 피아노와 반주의 대등함을 보인다. 김순애(1920-2007)는 대한민국의 여성 작곡가이다. 그녀는 급변하던 사회를 경험하였고 그 시대의 사명을 가지고 서양음악에 의존하지 않고 서양음악과 조화된 우리나라의 음악을 만들었다. 김순애의 1930~1940년대의 초기 가곡들은 단순한 조성과 한국적인 시로 작곡하였고 1950년 이후의 후기 가곡들은 서양과 한국적인 요소가 조화롭고 추상적이며 현대적인 작품을 작곡하였다. 「그대 있음에」는 1960년대 곡으로 한국풍과 현대적인 분위기가 융합해서 작곡되었다. 구노(Charles Gounod, 1818-1893)는 19세기의 프랑스 작곡가이며 오페라 「파우스트」, 「로미오와 줄리엣」을 비롯해 다수의 오페라와 종교곡들을 작곡하였다. 구노의 음악은 선율과 리듬이 단조로우며 색채감 있고 깔끔한 선율이 특징이며 다수의 곡들이 유절형식이다. 구노는 작곡에 자유로운 구조를 선호하여서 자유로운 구조의 시를 사용하였다. 「Sérénade」는 매력적인 성악 선율의 흐름과 피아노의 색채감 있는 선율이 주고받으며 반복하는 구노의 음악적 특징을 보인다.;This thesis is a program annotation of the musical works performed in the author’s graduate recital: 「Dichterliebe, Op.48」, Beethoven's 「Cello Sonata No.3, Op.69」, Kim Sun-Ae's 「그대 있음에, (Because of you)」, and Gonoud's 「Sérénade」. Schumann is a 19th-century composer whose music is characterized by the free use of the formal structure and the close relationship between poetry and music. 「Dichterliebe, Op.48」 is Schumann’s representative song cycle, and the lyrics of the song cycle depict a process of admiration, frustration, reconciliation, and giving up the love. This song cycle is composed of 14 pieces. The 1st song is in f# minor, consisting of prelude-A-interlude-A’- postlude form. By alternating between f# minor and A major, the 1st song expresses agony and delight of the love. The 4th song, in G major is composed of, A-B-C-D-postlude form, and the vocal melody features the simplicity. The 5th song is in b minor, consisting of A-A’-postlude, and the arpeggios in the accompaniment make the sad atmosphere. The 10th song, in g minor, consists of prelude-A-B-C-D-postlude. The descending melody of the piano makes the sad atmosphere of the lyrics. Beethoven, who is a representative Classical composer. His musical works are divided into the early, middle, and late periods. In the early period, he wrote sonatas mostly in four movements, and used new compositional devices such as thematic transformation in the middle period. His late period showed drastic expressions in music with daring use of the harmonic progression. 「Cello Sonata No.3, Op.69」 was composed during his middle period, cast in three movements. The first movement is written in sonata form, and the cello and the piano imitate the thematic materials each other. The second movement is fast in the scherzo-trio form, consisting of A-B-A-B-A-Coda. In this movement, Beethoven uses syncopations and rests frequently. The third movement is in the sonata allegro form and begins with a short and slow introduction. Kim, Sun-Ae is a Korean woman composer who wrote many songs. She pursued for the music which was easily understood by the audience, and composed the contemporary Korean music while harmonizing the Western and Korean music. 「그대 있음에」is in four-four time, in d minor, and Kim, Nam Jo wrote the lyrics of this song. Kim, Sun-Ae's 「그대 있음에」 is characterized by simples melodies, the repeated use of the lyrics, and the use of skips to highlight the lyrics. To emphasize the vocal melody, the accompaniment often includes the vocal melodic line in the uppermost part. Gounod is a 19th century composer in France, and he contributed to incorporate the French music with German and Italian music. His music is simple and elegant, 「Sérénade」 is in six-eight time, in F major, consisting of prelude-A-A’-A’’-postlude. Gounod also added brilliant passages to extend the length of the phrase in this song. In addition, 「Sérénade」 is written in a strophic form, and the melody is expressed monotonously but elegantly.
