Teaching Young Learners through Picture Books

Abstract

Introduction 1)Purpose: The purpose of this textbook is to help Korean elementary school students to improve the four language skills through English picture books. Students become interested in picture books and have reading habits in English books. Starting with picture books, the goal is to have a reading habit as a precursor to chapter books. 2)Target Learners: The target learners are young students aged 8-9 Elementary school afterschool English language program, 10~15 students, mixed gender Their proficiency level is intermediate-mid according to the ACTFL and the learning context is an afterschool English program. ;소개 1) 목적: 이 교과서의 목적은 한국의 초등학생들이 영어 그림책을 통해 4개 국어 실력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 돕는 것이다. 학생들은 그림책에 관심을 갖게 되고 영어책의 독서 습관을 갖게 된다. 그림책부터 시작해서 챕터북의 전조로 독서 습관을 들이는 것이 목표다. 2) 학습자 대상: 대상은 8~9세의 어린 학생입니다. 초등학교 방과 후 영어프로그램, 10~15명, 혼성 그들의 숙달 수준은 ACTFL에 따르면 중간-중간이며 학습 맥락은 방과후 영어 프로그램이다.
