César Franck Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major에 대한 연구 분석

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사 과정 이수를 위한 졸업 연주 작품 중 세자르 프랑크 (César Auguste Jean Guillaume Hubert Franck, 1822~1890)의 Violin Sonata in A Major에 대하여 연구한 것이다. 세자르 프랑크는 19세기 후반 프랑스의 대표적인 작곡가로 오르가니스트이자 종교 음악가이며 파리 음악원의 오르간 교수로 활동하였다. 그는 후기 낭만시대에 있어 프랑스 순수 기악음악의 발전을 이끌었고, 고전 음악 양식과 낭만 음악적 요소를 융합시킨 음악을 보여주었다. 오르간 음악에서 주요 업적을 남겼고 실내악, 교향곡 등 순수 기악 곡 발전에 큰 공헌을 하였으며, 근대 프랑스 음악의 선구자로서 중요한 토대를 마련하였다. 본 논문에서 다룰 프랑크의 <Violin Sonata in A Major>는 그의 마지막 시기에 작곡하여 3기로 분류되며 1886년에 작곡되었다. 당시 일반적인 소나타가 3개의 악장으로 구성된 것과는 다르게 프랑크 바이올린 소나타는 4개의 악장으로 구성되어 있다. 또한 낭만주의 시대 특징인 순환 기법이 각 악장에 3개의 순환동기를 반복, 변형시켜 작품의 통일성을 나타내주며 화성의 자유로운 전조와 색채적인 화성의 사용은 프랑크만의 특징을 살려 낭만주의 작품답게 표현되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 프랑크의 <Violin Sonata in A Major>의 이해를 돕기 위해 당시 시대적 상황, 프랑크의 생애와 시기별 작품 등 프랑크에 대한 정보를 연구하고 각 악장별로 작품을 분석, 연구하였다.;This thesis is on the Violin Sonata in A Major by César Auguste Jean Guillaume Hubert Franck (1822-1890), one of my graduate performances for the completion of my master’s program. César Franck was a leading French composer, an organist, religious musician, and an organ professor at the Paris Conservatory in the late 19th century. He led the development of pure French instrumental music in the late Romantic period and showed music that fused classical music styles with romantic musical elements. He made major achievements in organ music, contributed greatly to the development of pure instrumental music such as chamber music and symphony, and laid important foundations as a pioneer of modern French music. César Franck’s <Violin Sonata in A Major>, which will be covered in this thesis, was composed in his last period, classified as a third, and composed in 1886. Unlike ordinary sonata at the time, which consisted of three movements, the César Franck Violin Sonata was composed of four movements. In addition, circulation technique, which are characteristic of the Romantic era, show the unity of the work by repeating and transforming three rotational motivations in each movement, and the free precursor of Mars and the use of colorful Mars are expressed as romantic works by Franck. In this thesis, to help understand César Franck’s <Violin Sonata in A Major>, he studied information about César Franck, such as the situation at the time, César Franck’s life and his own compositional technique and the works were analyzed and studied for each movement.
