Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of changes in the proximal neck angle on blood flow in an abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA). Hemodynamic analysis was conducted to investigate the effect of aneurysm rupture with the abdominal aortic aneurysmal geometries such as neck angle and asymmetry. The blood flows in baseline and healthy model geometries smoothly flow along vessel geometry, but the flow in the AAA geometry is very complex as the secondary flow is strongly formed. As the neck angle increases, the EIp maximum value occurs in the proximal neck while the minimum value appreas in the distal neck. In addition, EIτ distributed uniformly on the wall of the aneurysm as the neck angle and blood velocity increase. 2019 The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers
