정신장애인의 사회적 배제가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 정신장애인에 대한 편견으로 사회에서 배제하지 않고 장애 수용의 기반을 조성하여 사회구성원으로서 복귀해 삶의 만족을 증진시키는 것이다. 사회 구성원인 정신장애인에게 삶의 만족도는 자신의 삶을 받아들이고 이해하는 중요한 요인으로서 볼 수 있다. 정신장애인은 타 장애유형에 비해 사회적 배제의 주요 대상으로서 삶의 전반적인 만족에 있어 매우 취약한 대상임을 선행연구를 통해 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 정신장애인의 사회적 배제가 삶에 영향을 주는 가운데 장애수용 정도가 매개로 어떻게 작용할 것인지 고민을 하였으며 사회적 배제를 해결할 수 있는 실마리를 찾으려 하였다. 본 연구에서 활용한 분석 자료는 장애인 고용 패널의 2차 웨이브 3차 조사 데이터로 전체 등록 장애인 4577명 중 정신장애인은 163명이며, 결측치를 제거한 154명을 대상으로 SPSS프로그램 활용하여 분석을 진행하였다. 연구 대상자의 특성 을 파악하기 위해 빈도분석 및 기술통계분석을 실시하였으며, 주요 변수들 간의 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 사회적 배제와 삶의 만족, 장애수용의 매개효과를 분석하기 위해 Baron and Kenny(1986)의 매개효과 검증 절차에 따라 회귀 분석 3 단계를 실시하였으며, 매개효과 유의성을 검증하기 위해 마지막으로 Sobel-test를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 사회적 배제와 삶의 만족 간의 관계에서 장애수용이 부분매개 효과를 가지고 있는 것으로 분석되었으며, 고용 배제, 경제 배제, 사회참여 배제의 순으로 정신장애인의 삶의 만족에 영향을 미쳤다. 연구 결과를 토대로 다음과 같이 제언 하였다. 첫째, 정신장애인의 고용 배제를 완화시키기 위한 지속적인 고용 유지 및 취업의 기회를 보장하여 사회 구성원으로서 역할 수행을 기반으로 장애수용도를 높혀야 한다. 둘째, 정신장애인의 경제 배제를 완화시키기 위해 장애수당 대상의 범위를 확대해야 한다. 셋째, 정신장애인의 장애수용도를 높이기 위한 기반 조성으로 사회참여서비스 제공과 정책적인 노력이 필요하다. ;The purpose of this study is not to exclude people with mental disabilities from society, but to create a foundation for acceptance of disabilities and to return as members of society to promote life satisfaction. For mentally handicapped people who are members of society, satisfaction with life can be seen as an important factor in accepting and understanding their own lives. A prior study can confirm that the mentally disabled are a major target of social exclusion compared to other types of disabilities and are very vulnerable to overall satisfaction in life. In this study, the social exclusion of mentally disabled people affected life, and the degree of disability acceptance was considered to work as a medium and tried to find a clue to solve social exclusion. The analysis data used in this study are secondary wave tertiary survey data from the employment panel for the disabled. Of the total 4,577 registered disabled people, 163 were mentally disabled, and 154 people who removed missing values were analyzed using the SPSS program. Frequency analysis and technical statistical analysis were conducted to identify the characteristics of the study subjects, and correlation analysis between major variables was conducted. To analyze the mediated effects of social exclusion, life satisfaction, and disability acceptance, step 3 of the regression analysis was performed in accordance with the mediated effectiveness verification procedure of Baron and Kenny (1986), and finally, a Sobel-test was conducted to verify the significance of the mediated effects. The study found that disability acceptance had a partial-mediation effect in the relationship between social exclusion and life satisfaction, and in the order of employment exclusion, economic exclusion, and social participation exclusion affected the life satisfaction of the mentally disabled. Based on the findings, the following suggestions were made: First, it is necessary to increase disability acceptance based on the performance of its role as a member of society by ensuring continuous employment maintenance and employment opportunities to alleviate employment exclusion of mentally disabled people. Second, the scope of disability benefits should be expanded to ease economic exclusion of mentally disabled people. Third, it is necessary to provide social participation services and make policy efforts as a foundation to increase the acceptance of the mentally disabled. Based on the theory of disability paradox, this study saw that society changes while interacting as a socio-environmental factor, not considering the acceptance of disability by individuals as an internal element of psychology.
