Dmitri Shostakovich의 Sonata for Cello and Piano in d minor, Op.40에 관한 분석 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 드미트리 쇼스타코비치(Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich, 1906–1975) 의 <Sonata for Cello and Piano in d minor, Op.40>에 관한 연구 분석이다. 드미트리 쇼스타코비치는 20세기 소련을 대표하는 작곡가로서, 사회주의 리 얼리즘을 표방하는 스탈린 정권의 혼란스러운 상황 속에서도 20세기 모더니즘 의 영향을 받아 수많은 작품들을 작곡하였다. 이번 연구에서 다룰 첼로 소나타 Op.40은 쇼스타코비치가 남긴 유일한 첼로 소나타로서, 당시 정치적, 사회적 상황을 작품에 반영하고, 사회주의 리얼리즘 과 서구 음악의 영향에 따른 현대적인 음악 양식이 대조를 이루던 시기에 이 두 가지를 절충하고자 했던 작품이다. 이 소나타는 1악장의 소나타 형식, 2악장의 Scherzo-Trio 형식(복합 3부 형식), 3악장의 느린 악곡, 4악장의 론도 형식으로 이루어진 전형적인 고전적 소나타 구조로 이루어져 있어 고전 양식을 계승하였지만, 1악장의 재현부의 2개의 주 제 등장 순서가 서로 바뀌어 있는 점, 2악장에서는 오스티나토 기법을 사용하 고 있는 점이 고전 양식과는 다소 다른 모습을 보여주고 있다. 모든 악장에서 전통적인 화성 진행을 기반으로 하면서도 관계조 이외의 전 조 등의 모습을 보여주고 있으며, 하모닉스, 글리산도 등의 현대적 요소도 적 절하게 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 쇼스타코비치의 생애와 음악을 살펴본 후 첼로 소나타 Op.40 을 주제, 리듬, 형식, 화성에 기초하여 전통과 현대의 측면에서 분석하여, 작곡 가의 의도에 보다 심도있게 접근하고 이해할 수 있도록 하는데 그 목적을 두었다.;This study is an analysis of research on <Sonata for Cello and Piano in d minor, Op.40>, which was one of Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich (1906-19 75)’s works. Despite the chaotic situation of Stalin’s regime advocating socialist realism, Dmitri Shostakovich, who is a representative composer of the Soviet Union in 20th century, composed numerous works under the influence of 20th century modernism. This study focused on Sonata for Cello Op.40. This was the only Cello Sonata left by Shostakovich and a work that reflected the political and social situations of the time. In addition, it was a work that sought to compromise the two at the time when modern music styles were in contrast with socialist realism and the influence of Western music. Sonata for Cello Op.40 has a typical classical Sonata structure consisting of the sonata form of the first movement, the Scherzo-Trio form of the second movement, the slow music of the third movement, and the Rondo form of the fourth movement. Although it inherited the typical classical Sonata structure, the fact that two main themes of the first movement's reenactment are in different order, and the use of the Ostinato technique in the second movement shows somewhat different from the classical style. Based on the traditional chord progression, all movements show modulation to another keys other than the relative key, as well as modern elements such as harmonics and glissando are also used appropriately. The purpose of this thesis lies in allowing in depth understanding and approaching towards Shostakovich's intention by analyse the cello sonata Op.40 in terms of traditions and modernity based on the theme, rhythm, form and harmony, after examining the composer's life and music.
