Abstract
Johannes Brahms, the composer, conductor and pianist, maintained constructed beauty of form with romantic expression, which classic musicians emphasize. Brahms, inspired by momentum of J.S Bach’s baroque form and L.V Beethoven’s classical music formula. Thus, his stand-along style was built with romantic lyricism. Brahms’Violin Sonata No.2 Op.100 composed by three movements especially states his unique characteristics utilizing romantic remains such as relevance and enlargement between second and third degree of each note, systematic relationship, secondary dominant, borrowed chord, complex rhythms such as 2 Fathers 2:3. Brahms’ Brahms designed 4 musical elements on theme melody of this sonata: 1. Perfect 4th and conjunct motion 2th (a), are the most significant elements throughout the three movements. 2. (b), which is conjugating auxiliary sounds, 3. (c) consisting of a leap forward in harmony. 4. (d) element with such a smooth sequential downward march, along with similar characteristics of element (a) is also composed of major musical elements in each of the three movements. The second movement is a combination of binary form. It is composed of part 1, part 2 and Coda. In the second movement, the key elements of music from the first movement Perfect 4th descending skip tone – 2nd ascending conjunct motion and the auxiliary sound structure (b) continue to develop with a theme motivation. As the second movement proceeds, a romantic color is made by using a combination rhythm and dot rhythm as a rhythmic feature, and frequent variations and subsonic sounds. The third movement represents (c) elements of the first movement’s sound splash in the form of traditional Rondo and repeats the phrasis in terms of Major 3rd of A Major-C# minor. The third movement is characterized by 3rd relationship and continues to develop the music structure, hence the second pitch in the first movement is used as the construct of the harmony of the music. The main musical elements of the first movement are derived and come together, and each section is systematically connected using colorful chromatic scale and complex rhythms more frequently likewise. In conclusion, taking a look at the analysis of his pieces, Brahms was found to be a composer who creatively combined the characteristics of two conflicting musical languages. This piece inherits the formal beauty of traditional classical music by thoroughly designing the structure of the music while keeping the musical features and grammar of from romantic era.;본 논문은 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)의 Violin Sonata No.2 in A Major, Op.100 에 관한 분석 연구이다. 제 2악장은 제 1부( A B )-제 2부( A’B’)-코다( A”B”)로 구성된 복합 2부 형식으로 리듬과 빠르기의 잦은 변화를 중점적으로 연출한다. A – B – A’- C – B’- A”- Coda로 진행한다.
