Abstract
This paper examined the educational implications and effects of the current method of teaching original hansi text side-by-side with modern Korean translations. While hansi is an essential subject in the study of Korean poetry, learning hansi in the broader context of education in Korean literature and the Korean language also has significance. Studying hansi alongside its modern translation deepens the learners' appreciation and expands literary imagination by filling gaps in meaning between both languages. In addition, the learning experience facilitates the development of communication skills through vocabulary building, an appreciation of traditional culture, and the establishment of national identity, as well as the enhancement of literacy in Korea as a multicultural society.
