도자와 금속을 결합한 패션 주얼리 연구

Abstract

과거에는 장신구인 관, 허리띠, 관모와 칼 등의 장신구는 지위나 신분을 상징하는 수단이었다. 현대에 와서는 그 틀에서 벗어나 패션의 한 영역으로 자리잡고 있으며 다양한 방법으로 표현되어지고 있다. 빠르게 변하는 사회, 문화 등 다양한 현상 속에서 자신의 개성을 표출하기위해 소비자들은 더 다양한 디자인의 장신구를 요구하게 되었다. 그러므로 재료와, 질감, 형태 등을 고려한 새로운 장신구들이 제작되어지고 있다. 이러한 현상은 기술의 발달, 소재 개발 등 다양한 이유로 보여지는 결과이며, 장신구에 쓰이는 고가의 물질적 가치보다 장신구의 조형미에 중시하게 된 이유라 생각된다. 그럼에도 불구하고 장신구를 이루고 있는 소재는 여전히 핵심요소이다. 현재 사용되어지는 소재의 특성에 대한 기법과 아이디어를 발전시킬 필요가 있으며, 그 중에서도 소재간의 결합에 중점을 둘 필요가 있다고 생각하였다. 본 연구는 도자와 금속의 소재간 결합을 통하여 장신구 디자인 제작하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한 파인 주얼리 가 아닌, 패션 주얼리 의 소비가 늘어나면서 장신구의 범위가 크게 확대 되는 시점에서 보석, 천연원석, 귀금속이 아닌 소재로 장신구를 제작한다면 보다 새로운 디자인과 합리적인 가격의 장신구가 될 수 있겠다는 것이 연구의 배경이 되었다. 실제로 현재는 리사이클 주얼리나, 아크릴, 또는 섬유 등의 다양한 소재를 사용하여 장신구의 영역을 확장시켜가고 있는 추세이다. 패션 주얼리에 쓰인 소재 간의 결합 사례를 살펴보면서 연구의 주 소재인 도자와 금속의 선택 이유와 밝히고자한다. 연구자는 본 연구를 통해 각 소재가 어우러져 나타내는 차별화된 결과물로 다양성을 기대할 수 있으며, 확대된 장신구의 새로운 영역을 기대할 수 있다. 또한 주로 장신구 셋팅에 쓰이는 보석과 천연원석을 대신하여, 도자가 패션 주얼리로서의 수월한 보급화, 다양한 가능성과 가치를 가지고 있음을 부여하고자 한다. 또한 금속의 깨지지 않는 견고함과, 도자의 부드럽고 다채로운 질감과 색깔의 효과를 살리고자 했다. 각 물성의 장점을 부각시키고, 단점은 보완하여 서로 상호보완적 관계임을 밝히고자 한다. ;In the past, accessories such as coronets, belts, hats, and knives represented the rank or status of the wearer. In modern times, they mean more than that and have become an area of fashion by being expressed in various ways. Consumers are demanding more diverse designs for accessories to express their individuality in various circumstances including the rapidly changing society and culture. Accordingly, new accessories are being manufactured considering materials, textures, and shapes. This results from different causes including the development of technology and materials, and this is why the aesthetic value of accessories is more emphasized than the material value. Nevertheless, the materials used for making accessories still remains as a key factor. In this regard, it is necessary to develop techniques and ideas on the characteristics of the currently used materials, especially, the bonding between materials. The purpose of this study is to design accessories by combining ceramic and metal. This study is based on the idea that manufacturing accessories with materials other than gems, natural gemstones, or precious metals would make them more original and affordable, as the consumption of fashion jewelry, rather than fine jewelry, has increased and the range of accessories has further expanded. In fact, the current trend is to expand the range of accessories with various materials such as recycled jewelry, acrylic, and textile. This study aims to identify the reasons for choosing ceramic and metal as the primary research subjects while examining cases of fashion jewelry made by combining different materials. The researcher expects to find diverse outcomes where each material is harmonized and explore a new area of expanded accessories. In addition, this study intends to disclose the easy availability, various potentials, and values of ceramic as a substitute for the common materials for setting accessories, gems and natural gemstones, in fashion jewelry. It also aims to emphasize the strong durability of metal and the smooth and different textures and colors of ceramic. In addition, it will highlight the strengths of each property and complement the weaknesses to reveal the complementary relationship of the two materials.
