Light is the most important architectural element that stimulates and induces human vision as a medium connecting space. Exhibition space is a space that requires spatial attraction and concentration on work. The work becomes the visual center, and humans instinctively attracted to natural light experience various spaces along the flow of light in the space. About 65% of the art galleries of the world today have little or no natural light. A common problem among most art galleries is that they use too much lighting, which not only destroys the natural environment, but also damages the natural beauty of work. This study analyzed four domestic and international exhibition spaces using natural light as their main lighting by classifying the characteristics of natural light into spatial, formative, and temporal. As a result, the characteristics of expression by light are separated from each other having independence, but they are represented as two or more overlapping effects in one space. The structure itself of these four exhibition spaces is designed to allow natural light to stream. When natural light is utilized, viewers can see the original colors of works as they are, as well as another aspects of the works while experiencing light change itself from a stream of the sun, which cannot be experienced in artificial lighting. Like this, the light of nature has a characteristic that only changes according to the passage of time, and it is expressed in various aspects in space. Above all, the diffusion of natural light aims at the ideal of all artificial lighting. Therefore, this study extracts the expressive characteristics of light through the case analysis of the exhibition spaces using natural light and recognizes the importance of intrinsic meaning and value of natural light in directing a space, with a hope that spaces using natural light will receive more attention.;빛은 공간을 연결하는 매개체로써 인간의 시각을 자극하고 유도하는 가장 중요한 건축적 요소이다.
