페이퍼 컷팅을 활용한 그래픽 표현 연구

Abstract

페이퍼 컷팅은 중국을 대표하는 문화 중 하나이고 중국 전통문화를 구성하는 요소이다, 페이퍼 컷팅은 가위나 조각칼을 이용하여 종이에서 다양한 예술성을 표현하는 기법으로, 종이를 이용하기 때문에 간편하고 저렴해 세계적으로 지역과 문화적 특성과 상징성을 내재하며 발달해왔다. 중국의 영향을 받아 전 세계에서 다양하게 활용되고 있는 페이퍼 컷팅에서 특히 중국의 페이퍼 컷팅은 중국의 전통예술을 내포하였다. 본 연구에서는 중국 페이퍼 컷팅의 구체적인 분류법과 표현법을 소개한다. 본 연구는 페이퍼 컷팅의 소재와 지역 등 2가지 부분으로 나누었다. 문양은 공통으로 인식하는 특정한 지시물을 표현하고 명백한 의미를 전달하는 기능을 가진다. 중국 페이퍼 컷팅에는 구체적으로 해음법(谐音法), 해형법（谐形法）, 상징법（象征法） 등 3가지 표현법이 있다. 중국 남북지방문화의 차이가 있기 때문에 페이퍼 컷팅의 예술형식도 다르다. 또한 서양 페이퍼 커팅과의 비교를 통해 페이퍼 컷팅을 더 깊이 이해할 수 있다. 전통적 문화예술형식은 현대 디자인에 매우 중요한 영향을 끼치고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 페이퍼 컷팅과 그래픽 디자인의 관계를 밝히고 그 적용 포인트에 대하여 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 중국의 전통적인 표현법을 현대적 표현으로 보존하기 위해 이상한 나라의 앨리스를 주제로 선정하였다. 본 연구는 페이퍼 컷팅을 통해 중국예술의 조형적 특징이 현대적인 디자인으로 발전될 가능성이 있음을 발견하였다. 이상한나라의 앨리스는 소설을 바탕으로 애니메이션, 영화가 여러 편 제작되었고, 특히 이상한 나라의 앨리스 애니메이션 영화가 많은 인기를 얻었다. 그래서 본 연구는 이상한 나라의 앨리스 애니메이션 영화를 기초로 페이퍼 컷팅 조형요소를 다양하게 응용하고 이상한나라의 앨리스를 리디자인하였다. 전통적인 예술형식에서 페이퍼 컷팅을 통해 다른 이야기도 현대적인 방향과 창의적인 디자인을 향후 연구를 할 수 있다.;Paper cutting is one of the most representative cultures in China and constitutes a traditional Chinese culture. Paper cutting is a technique of expressing various artistic features on paper using scissors or engraving knives. Because paper is used, And has developed and embraced local and cultural characteristics and symbolism. Especially in paper cutting, which is widely used all over the world due to the influence of China, paper cutting in China has embraced traditional Chinese art. This paper introduces the specific classification and expression of Chinese paper cutting. This study was divided into two parts: paper cutting material and area. The pattern has the function of expressing a specific instruction that is recognized in common and conveying an obvious meaning. There are three expressions in the Chinese paper cutting, namely, the Chinese phonetic method, the Chinese phonetic method, and the symbolic method. The art form of paper cutting is also different because there is a difference between Chinese and North Korean culture. Comparisons with western paper cutting also make paper cutting more understandable. Traditional culture and art forms have a very important influence on modern design. Therefore, in this study, we will clarify the relationship between paper cutting and graphic design, and examine the application points. This study selected Alice in Wonderland as a theme to preserve Chinese traditional expression as a modern expression. Through this study, I found out that paper cutting can lead to the development of modern Chinese art formative features. Alice in Wonderland is a novel first published in 1865 by a British professor named Luis Carroll. The images of this novel use realistic techniques and general story development methods, but have received little attention. Since then, several animations and movies have been made about this novel, and especially the strange country Alice animated films have gained much popularity. Therefore, this study applied alice animation film of a strange country variously applying paper cutting formative element and redisigned Alice of a strange country. Through paper cutting in traditional art forms, other stories can be studied in the modern direction and creative design in the future.
