아랍어권 학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 위한 쓰기 교육 자료 개발 방향 연구

Abstract

대학에서 요구하는 쓰기 과제는 타인의 글과 다양한 자료를 인용하여 글의 객관성과 타당성을 유지해야 한다. 또한 학문 목적 한국어 학습자는 학습자와 연구자 중간 단계로서 자신의 과제와 글을 수행함에 있어 정직함과 윤리적 의식이 기반이 되어야 한다. 하지만 학문 목적 한국어 학습자들은 언어능력 부족과 한국어 학술적 글쓰기 장르에 대한 지식 부족, 문화적 차이 등 다양한 요인으로 인해 표절의 문제를 일으킨다. 아랍 지역은 구어 중심 문화권으로 체계적인 문어체 교육이 이루어지지 않고 있으며 구전 전통이 강해 출처 없이 타인이 작성한 내용을 사용하는 모습이 보인다. 이는 표절을 쉽게 범할 수 요인으로 실제 아랍어권 학습자는 글쓰기 윤리에 대한 의식이 많이 부족하고 자료를 적절하게 인용하는 방법에 대한 지식에도 부족한 모습을 보인다. 아랍어권 학습자의 한국어 교육 수요가 증가하고 있으며 대학(원) 진학을 희망하는 학문 목적 학습자가 증가함에 따라 아랍어권 학문 목적 학습자를 대상으로 한 연구가 필요하고 특히, 아랍어권 학습자의 성공적인 학업 수행을 위해서는 맥락 지식의 글쓰기 윤리에 대한 교육이 필요하며 이를 위한 쓰기 교육 자료 개발이 시급하다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본고는 아랍어권 학습자 학문 목적 쓰기 능력 향상을 위해 맥락 지식 교육을 중심으로 쓰기 교육 자료를 개발하고자 한다. 우선 1장에서는 연구의 목적과 의의를 밝히며 연구의 필요성과 중요성을 밝히고 2장에서는 학문 목적 쓰기에 대한 연구, 학문 목적 쓰기 지식과 아랍어권 쓰기 교육의 특징에 대한 이론적 배경을 고찰하였고 이를 통해 학문 목적 쓰기는 글이 읽는 담화 공동체와 사회의 맥락에 대한 지식이 우선되어야 한다는 점과 아랍어권 한국어 학습자가 글쓰기 윤리에 대한 인식과 인용 방법에 대한 지식이 많이 부족하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이에 아랍어권 학습자에게는 학문 목적 쓰기 지식 중 맥락 지식이 필요하다는 것을 확인하였고 효과적인 맥락 지식 교육을 위해서는 글쓰기 윤리의 개념적 지식과 인용하는 방법인 절차적 지식에 대한 교육이 함께 진행되어야 한다는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 맥락 지식에 대한 연구와 아랍어권 학습자 대상 한국어 쓰기 연구를 검토하여 선행 연구를 살펴보았다. 3장에서는 기존 학문 목적 쓰기 교재에서 맥락 지식을 어떻게 다루고 있는지 분석하였다. 교재 분석을 통해 글쓰기 윤리의 개념적 지식이 교재에 충분히 반영되지 않았다는 한계점을 찾았고 4장에서는 3장에서 논의된 교재 분석을 바탕으로 아랍어권 학습자를 위한 맥락 지식 교육 자료를 개발하였다. 본 연구는 아랍어권 학문 목적 한국어 학습자의 맥락 지식 함양을 위한 교육 자료 개발에 대한 실제적 논의와 교육 자료 모형을 제안한 연구로 본고에서 개발한 교육 자료에 대한 지속적인 연구를 통하여 아랍어권 학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 하는 한국어 교육 현장에 도움을 주고 학술적 쓰기 교육 방법으로 적극 활용되기를 기대한다. ;Writings in higher educational institutions, such as universities, require objectivity and validity when citing and quoting others’ works. In the same regard, students learning the Korean language for academic purposes are also required to apply their knowledge with ethical minds. However, many students experience plagiarism due to their linguistic inability, unfamiliarity with academic writing, and cultural differences. Arab regions have a verbal-oriented culture, and a systemic education for academic writing is not provided. This culture influences plagiarism issues among Arab students. They would copy others’ work without citations and sometimes show ignorance of how to refer to others’ work in academic writing. With the increasing demand for learning the Korean language among Arab students, a study on the characteristics of Arab learners of academic Korean language is important. Specifically, teaching to form ethical minds in writing and developing customized teaching materials based on context knowledge are required. This thesis suggests a study on a new kind of teaching material in Korean writing with a focus on the context knowledge for Arab learners. Chapter 1 presents the purpose and importance of this study. Chapter 2 reveals that academic writing must consider context knowledge regarding cultural aspects, such as surrounding communities and societies. This chapter also finds that Arab learners are lacking in ethics for academic writing and basic knowledge on citation and quotation, while examining context knowledge for teaching writing skills as well as characteristics of Arab students. In conclusion, this chapter suggests that teaching knowledge regarding writing ethics, such as citation and quotation, should be provided to Arab learners based on context knowledge. Chapter 3 analyzes how existing teaching materials deal with context knowledge and shows that the importance of ethical aspects are not reflected in the current materials. As a review of previous chapters, a new kind of writing material for Arab learners is presented in Chapter 4. It is meaningful that this paper suggests a new model of teaching material for Arab students learning Korean writing based on context knowledge. It is expected that this thesis will deepen the understanding of Arab students and help the teachers of Arab students in the field.
