중학교 <역사> ‘광해군 중립외교’ 수업 방안

Abstract

역사교육에서 한국의 대외관계사를 설명할 때 주로 외세 침략에 대응하는 활동을 중점적으로 제시하고 있다. 그러나 전란을 극복하고자 했던 활동들이 중요한 만큼 전쟁을 사전에 방지하려는 노력 역시 중요한 역사교육 주제라고 할 수 있다. 특히 오늘날 대한민국이 미국과 중국의 패권 다툼으로 외교적인 어려움을 겪는 상황에서‘광해군 중립외교’는 학생들에게 더 의미 있는 수업주제가 될 것이다. 본 연구자는 조선이 다시 큰 전쟁에 휘말리는 것을 막고자 광해군이 어떤 노력을 하였는지 알 수 있도록 수업 방안을 구성하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 ‘광해군 중립외교’에 대한 학계의 연구와 2009 개정 교육과정 중학교 <역사>를 검토하였고, 중학교『역사』 교과서 서술과의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 이 분석을 토대로 교육과정과 교과서에서 나타난 한계점을 개선함으로써, ‘광해군 중립외교’의 배경과 내용을 자세히 다룬 수업 방안을 제시하였다. 기존의 교육과정과 교과서에서는 조선의 대외관계에 대해 양란을 중점으로 서술하면서 ‘광해군 중립외교’가 호란의 배경이 되었다. 그러나 ‘광해군 중립외교’에 대한 명확한 이해를 위해서는 ’광해군 중립외교’를 어떤 사건의 배경으로 제시하는 것이 아니라 ‘광해군 중립외교’를 중심으로 그 배경과 내용을 자세히 설명해주는 수업이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 임진왜란 이후 재조지은으로 대표되는 조선과 명의 관계를 기존의 서술 보다 더 자세히 제시하고, 강홍립의 투항 사건뿐만 아니라 재파병 문제와 모문룡 사건을 추가한 구체적인 수업방안을 마련하였다. 본 연구의 수업 방안은 기존의 연구와 비교하여 다음과 같은 점에서 의의가 있다. 첫째, 호란의 배경으로서가 아닌 ‘광해군 중립외교’를 주제로 수업 방안을 제시하였다. 둘째, 학생들의 맥락적인 역사이해를 돕기 위해 ‘광해군 중립외교’의 배경과 내용이 무엇인지 구체적으로 설명하였다. 셋째, 당시의 관점에서 ‘광해군 중립외교’에 대해 평가할 기회를 제공함으로써 학생들을 한 단계 높은 역사이해로 이끌고자 하였다. ;In History education, when describing Korea external relationship history, activities to counter foreign aggressions were mainly focused. However, as the activities to overcome the war were important, efforts to prevent war in advance are also important historical education topics. Especially today, as the Korea is faced with diplomatic difficulties due to the hegemony between the US and China, ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ will become a more meaningful subject for students. This researcher constructed a lesson plan what kind of effort the Gwanghaegun did for Chosun to prevent getting caught up in a big war again. To do this, at first academic research and the 2009 revised curriculum middle school <History> about ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ were analyzed, and analyzed the correlation with the description of middle school 『History』 textbook. Based on this analysis, limitations in curriculum and textbooks have improved, and suggested a lesson plan that dealt with the background and contents of ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ in detail. In the existing curriculum and textbooks, about foreign relations of Chosun, it was described focusing on the Imjin War and the Manchu War of 1636 and ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ became the background of the Manchu War. However, in order to gain a clear understanding of the ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’, it is necessary to teach the background and content of the ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ detailedly with focusing on it, not presenting the ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ as the background of an event. Therefore, in this study, the relationship between Chosun and Ming dynasty during the Imjin War was explained in detail, also prepared a specific lesson plan that included the incident of Hong-lip Kang, the re-dispatch problem and the Mao Wenlong incident. The lesson plans of this study are significant in comparison with the previous studies. lesson plan was suggested for ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ rather than the background of Manchu War. Second, in order to help students understand contextual history, background and contents of ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’ was explained in detail. Third, from the viewpoint of the time, it was intended to lead students to a higher level of understanding of history by providing an opportunity to evaluate the ‘Gwanghaegun Neutral Diplomacy’.
