유닛의 반복을 통한 하트 기호의 조형적 표현 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 일상 속에서 자신의 내면 상태에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 감정 중 사랑을 집중적으로 고찰하여 상징화된 기하학적 도형을 이용해 시각적 언어로 표현한 것이다. 우리는 반복되는 삶 속에서 마주하는 현실을 통해 다양한 감정을 경험한다. 생활 속에서 여러 변화를 겪으며, 사소한 관계에서부터 나와 연관된 작은 사건들에 이르기까지 다양한 상황에서 감정의 변화를 겪게 된다. 사회에서 받는 압박감과 인간관계에서 생기는 문제 등으로 개인의 감정을 소모하여 분노, 증오, 불안, 좌절, 긴장감을 느끼거나 사랑, 기쁨, 희망, 편안함 등을 느끼게 된다. 이러한 대비되는 요소 중 부정적으로 발생하는 요인들은 때로는 긍정적인 반응을 억압하기도 한다. 이때 인간의 삶에 긍정적인 영향을 끼치는 것을 사랑이라 보고 상징기호로서 하트를 조형적으로 표현하여 변화하는 내면 심리를 관찰해 보았다. 이론연구에서는 상징적 매개체로서 기호의 의미와 사랑의 감정을 문헌을 통해 고찰하고, 기호로 구성된 유닛의 조형성을 다양한 작품을 통해 살펴봄으로써 주제표현의 실현 가능성을 확인해본다. 더불어 하트 기호를 사용하여 긍정적 감정의 세계를 표현한 작품들과 유닛으로 작업한 조형 작업들을 선별하여 사례연구로 분석하였다. 작품 제작을 위한 표현 방식에 대한 연구로 자수로 표현된 선의 조형성, 공간구성, 표현재료와 색채에 대해 이론적으로 살펴본다. 이를 통해 감정 변화의 과정에 따른 기하학적인 표현 방식, 반복되는 유닛을 통한 평면과 입체 형태의 공간 구성 그리고 대비되는 재료와 색채를 통한 감정의 시각적 표현 방법을 확인할 수 있었다. 작품제작을 위한 과정은 다음과 같다. 드로잉을 통해 작업을 구상하고, 자수기법을 사용하여 실로 선적인 요소를 표현해 감정선을 형성화 한다. 또한, 일반적인 상징 기호인 하트를 다각적으로 구현하고 소재의 투명함과 반투명한 성질을 가진 아크릴과 실크노방을 사용하여 공간구성과 시각적인 착시를 나타낸다. 이는 반대되는 성질의 재료와 색채를 사용하여 긍정과 부정의 상반되는 분위기를 표현하고, 하트 기호에 내재된 감정의 환기를 돕고자 함이다. 이를 토대로 하여 총 6점의 작품을 제작하여 섬유와 다른 재료의 조합으로 비 섬유적 소재가 지닌 예술적 표현 재료로서의 확장적 가치를 확인해 보고자 하였다. 이러한 작품 제작 과정은 부정적인 방향으로 이끌려 가고 있는 감정에서 헤어 나오지 못하는 연구자에게 사랑을 지속적으로 떠올리게 하고 긍정적인 상태로 변화시키고, 사랑의 상징기호가 전달하는 메시지를 통해 내면의 환기를 도울 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 하트 기호가 전달하는 사랑의 상징을 인식함으로써 외부에서 받게 되는 부정적인 감정으로부터 벗어나 내면의 감정을 새롭게 환기시키는 변화의 계기를 희망해본다.;The purpose of this study is to inquire into the feeling of love among other feelings which affect us in a positive way in our daily life, and to formulate it into geometrical figures. We experience various emotions in our daily life. In different situations where we face life changes, relationships with others and small incidents related to myself, we go through emotional turmoil. Due to the pressure to conform to society's standards and relationship problems, we suffer emotional instability which leads to anger, hatred, anxiety, frustration, and tension, or love, joy, hope, and comfort. Among these emotions, negative factors do suppress sometimes positive reactions. In such circumstances, I saw that which has a positive effect on our lives is love, and expressed symbolic heart formatively, and then observed changing inward mentality. I will look into the meaning of symbols as symbolic medium and the emotion love through literature review. Also, I will show the possibility of articulating themes through looking into formativeness of units composed of symbols in various works. Furthermore, I will analyze, as a case study, works using hearts to formulate positive inner mentality and sculptures made of units. As an inquiry into ways of articulating to produce pieces I will examine formativeness of lines formed by embroideries, spatial composition, material, and color. In this way, we will see how we express constantly changing emotions geometrically, spatial composition of plane and three-dimensional structure of repeated units, and visual expressions of emotions through various materials and colors. My working process is as follows: First I plan through drawing and form the changes of emotions using embroideries and strings which is a lineal element. Then I form the common symbol heart in variations, and make spatial composition and optical illusion using acryl and silk which are transparent and translucent. The purpose of using these conflicting material and color is to express the atmosphere of positiveness and negativeness. This will let the emotion in the symbol heart arouse. In this way, I will produce 6 works. I wish to show the broadening value of non fibered material as an art material mixing textile and other materials. Such a process will arouse love in the researcher and enable the change into positiveness who has not been able to get out of negative mindset. I could confirm the fact that through the message of symbols one could experience emotional recovery. Lastly, I hope the inner recovery from negative emotions caused by the outer world through recognizing love which is transmitted by the symbol love.
