꿈의 오케스트라 교육을 받은 학생의 경험과 이에 따른 변화

Abstract

본 연구는 꿈의 오케스트라 교육을 받은 학생의 경험과 이를 통한 변화를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 참여 관찰, 수업 관찰 일지, 활동지, 연구 참여자와의 집단 인터뷰 및 심층 인터뷰, 녹화 및 녹음 등의 자료들을 분석하여 결론을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 꿈의 오케스트라 교육을 통해 연구 참여자들은 좀 더 실제적인 방법으로 이전에는 경험해 보지 못했던 다양한 예술 활동을 경험할 수 있었고, 이는 예술적인 면을 확장시키는 요인이 되었다. 따라서 예술교육에서 좀 더‘실제적인’방법을 통해 ‘진짜 경험’이 이루어지도록 고민하고, 이를 위한 다양한 지원이 이루어져야 할 필요성이 있다. 둘째, 꿈의 오케스트라 교육을 통해 단원들은 자신감 및 자존감이 향상되었고, 이러한 개인적 변화를 통해 사회성에도 긍정적인 변화가 나타났다. 이러한 변화의 요인으로는 단원으로서의 역할을 해내는 과정과 ‘함께하는 수업’을 통한 ‘자유로운 의사소통’이 가능한 ‘동료 교수 방법’인 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 예술교육의 다양한 교수-학습 상황에서 자유로운 의사소통을 통해 학습할 수 있도록 수업을 계획하고 실행하는 것은 무엇보다 중요하다. 셋째, 꿈의 오케스트라 교육을 통해 연구 참여자들은 음악을 즐기고, 전공하고자 하는 등 삶에서 예술을 향유하고자 하는 긍정적인 변화가 생겼음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 이러한 긍정적인 요인들과는 달리, 단원들에게 학업의 기회비용은 꿈의 오케스트라 교육을 포기하게 하는 결정적인 요인이 되고 있었다. 따라서 다양한 예술적 경험이 삶에서 지속될 수 있도록 연계성 있는 예술교육에 관한 연구와 제도의 개선이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해 음악교육을 통한 교육의 중요성을 인식하고, 개선된 교육 환경이 조성되어 더 많은 학생들에게 실제적이고, 다양한 예술 경험이 제공될 수 있게 되기를 기대한다. ;The purpose of this study was to discover the experiences and changes of the students in the ‘El Sistema Korea Orchestra’ program. Participating observations, classroom observations, activity journals, group interviews and in-depth interviews with participants in the study, and recordings were taken in order to collect data for this research. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, ‘El Sistema Korea Orchestra’ education has allowed students to experience a variety of activities that they have never experienced in a more practical way before, which has contributed to expanding their artistic experience. Therefore, there is a need to think about ‘real experience’ through more ‘practical’ methods in art education and to provide various methods for it. Second, the ‘El Sistema Korea Orchestra’ education has improved the students’ self-confidence and self-esteem, and these personal changes have produced positive improvements in their social skills. The process of acting as an orchestra member and the ‘peer teaching’ with which they could witness, receive, and develop ‘free communication’skills contributed towards these improvements in their personal development. Therefore, it is most important to develop and implement a highly interactive plan so that students can learn through free-flowing communication in various teaching-learning situations. Finally, the students’ interest to enjoy music in life, to major in music, and to enjoy art in life improved consistently through the ‘El Sistema Korea Orchestra’ education. However, despite these positive factors, the opportunity costs to study was a decisive factor in forcing them to abandon their orchestra education. Therefore, it is necessary to improve research and institutions on interlinked art education and to provide more accessible artistic outlets in education so that various artistic experiences can continue in life. This study recognizes the importance of music education and hopes that an improved educational environment will be created so that more students can have practical and diverse artistic experiences.
