대구지역 중학교 자유학기제 음악 프로그램 인식 및 만족도

Abstract

This study is to investigate the recognition and satisfaction of the music program of the Daegu area middle school in 2017 and necessity of music program in free-learning, and to help it develop the more developed program. For this purpose, it was surveyed about the recognition and satisfaction of music program in Daegu area focused on 524 middle school students and 58 music teachers in Daegu area. The questionnaire was used as a research tool, and it was divided into the recognition of the free-learning system, the recognition of the free-learing music program, and the satisfaction of the free-learning music program. I use descriptive statistics to analyze the data and Chi-Square to analyze frequency differences according to variables. The analyzed result based on above research issue is as follows; (1) students considered ‘career exploration’ for free-learning. When selecting music program in free-learning, more 67% students have answered 'no' on if there is any career or interest for music program, and more 50% students answered 'no' on whether career of music is broadened after finishing music program than respondents saying 'yes.' Regarding the problem of music program in free-learning, students in Daegu area have answered 'absence of outside activity.' (2) music teachers did so the purpose as ‘apprehending aptitude via various experiences.’and expressed negative opinion in the expansion of the free-learning more than half. The reason for this is related to the problem of the music program of free-learning recognized by the muic teachers. Regarding the problem of music program in free-learning, music teachers in Daegu area have answered ‘overworking’, and it was suggested that measures to overcom the heavy work of teachers for smooth operation of the free-learning system. Music Teachers have answered ‘fulfilling abundant equipment’ and ‘casting outside lecturer’ the most on the most important when organizing music program in free-learning. Teacher who cast outside lecturer was less than about 30% than teacher who did not cast for 20 persons, and music teacher who organized program of local connection was 9, less 70% than teacher who did not organize. For reason of not casting outside lecturer, the most have answered 'lack of budget,' and the most have answered ‘lack of network for local connection of school,’ for difficult reason of local connection. (3) when it comes to satisfaction of music program in free-learning, for students, it was the highest, M = 3.80, for satisfaction on part of ‘active participation for music program’ and ‘relationship with instructor who running program,’ and it was the highest, M = 4.18, for satisfaction on ‘planning of music program,’ in case of teacher. On the other hand, it was the lowest, M = 3.15, for satisfaction on ‘interest of parents’ in case of students, and it was lower than normal, M = 2.80, for satisfaction on ‘local connection’ in case of teacher. In conclusion, the free-learing music program of middle school in Daegu seems to be somewhat distant from the students' interests, and it seems that there are many programs that are more in line with the conditions of the school than the activities the students want. Students want outside activities of the free-learing music program, but it is a difficult situation for students to organize their activities. The recognition of the free-learning system is still not fully established, so the concerned of the parents is lowered and it is difficult to obtain the cooperation of local organizations. For this reason, in the case of teachers who are engaged in other tasks as well as teaching free-learing and activities, it may be burdensome to try out various activities and career experiences, such as a program suitable for the local area or an expert who wants students. Therefore, in order to secure stable settlement in Daegu area in the future, it is a necessary; (1) to solve the heavy work of the teachers and to make it easier to access the external lecturers and the local infrastructure (2) external music organizations and institutions should run a music program that meets the interests of middle school students in Daegu (3) develop a training program to help parents and local music organizations understand the free-learning.;본 연구는 2017년 자유학기제를 실시한 대구지역 중학교의 음악 프로그램에 대한 인식과 만족도 알아보고 자유학기 음악 프로그램의 필요성을 인지하고 더 나은 방향으로 프로그램을 계발하는 데에 도움이 되기 위함을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 대구지역 중학생 524명과 음악교사 58명을 대상으로 대구지역 음악 프로그램의 인식과 만족도를 조사하였다. 연구도구는 설문지를 사용하였고, 자유학기제에 대한 인식, 자유학기 음악 프로그램에 대한 인식, 자유학기 음악 프로그램에 대한 만족도로 나누어 제작하였다. 자료 분석으로는 기술통계와 변인에 따른 빈도 차이를 분석하기 위해서 교차분석을 사용하였다. 자료를 분석하여 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대구지역 중학생은 자유학기제의 가장 중요한 목적으로 가장 많은 수가 ‘진로탐색’이라고 응답하였고, 자유학기제의 확대 발전에 긍정적이었다. 그 이유로 중학생들은 ‘새로운 자유학기 프로그램을 경험해보고 싶어서’를 가장 많이 선택하였다. 자유학기 음악 프로그램을 선택하지 않은 중학생은 선택한 학생보다 많았는데, 그 이유로 대구지역 중학생은 ‘더 듣고 싶은 다른 프로그램이 있어서’라고 가장 많이 응답하여 선행연구의 서울 수도권지역의 ‘음악에 흥미가 없다’라는 의견과는 다른 논의를 보였다. 하지만, 자유학기제 음악 프로그램은 본인들의 진로와 흥미와 관계가 없으며, 활동 후에도 음악 프로그램이 진로의 폭을 넓혀주지는 못하였다는 결론이 도출되었다. 자유학기 음악 프로그램 문제점에 대하여 대구지역 중학생들이 가장 많이 꼽은 것은 ‘외부체험활동 부족’이었다. 둘째, 대구지역 음악교사는 자유학기제의 가장 중요한 목적으로 ‘다양한 경험을 통한 적성 파악’을 꼽았고, 자유학기 확대 발전에는 53.4%인 반 이상이 부정적인 의견을 보였다. 그 이유에 대해서는 음악교사가 인식하는 자유학기 음악 프로그램의 문제점과 관련이 있다고 볼 수 있다. 대구지역 음악교사가 인식하는 자유학기 음악 프로그램에 대한 문제점은 ‘교사 업무 과중’이었고, 자유학기제의 원활한 운영을 위해서 교사의 과중한 업무를 해소할 수 있는 방안이 필요하다는 의견을 내세웠다. 대구지역 음악교사들이 자유학기 음악 프로그램을 운영할 때 중요하게 생각하는 요소는 ‘풍부한 기자재 구비’와 ‘외부강사 섭외’였다. 외부강사를 섭외한 대구지역 음악교사 58명 중 섭외한 교사는 20명에 불과하였으며, 섭외하지 않은 이유로는 ‘예산부족’이라고 응답하였다. 지역연계 프로그램을 구성한 대구지역 음악교사의 수는 58명 중 9명도 채 되지 않았으며, 구성하지 않은 이유로 가장 많은 응답을 얻은 것은 ‘학교의 지역 연계 네트워크 부족’이었다. 셋째, 대구지역 중학생들의 자유학기 음악 프로그램의 만족도는 ‘프로그램을 운영하는 강사와의 관계’에 대한 만족도가 가장 높았으며, ‘학부모의 관심도’에 대한 만족도가 가장 낮았다. 대구지역 음악교사들의 자유학기 음악 프로그램 만족도는 ‘음악 프로그램 계획성’에 대한 만족도가 가장 높았다. 며, 교사의 경우는 ‘지역 연계성’에 대한 만족도가 보통보다 더 낮았다. 결론적으로 대구지역 중학교의 자유학기 음악 프로그램은 학생들의 관심사와는 다소 거리가 있어 보이며, 학생들이 바라는 활동보다는 학교의 여건에 맞춘 프로그램이 많은 것으로 보인다. 학생들은 자유학기제 음악 프로그램의 외부 활동을 원하고 있으나, 학생들이 바라는 활동을 구성하기에는 어려운 여건이다. 아직 자유학기제에 대한 인식이 완전히 정착되지 않아 학부모의 관심도 떨어지고 지역 단체의 협조도 얻기 어렵다. 그렇기 때문에 자유학기 수업 및 활동 평가 뿐 아니라 다른 업무도 맡은 교사들의 입장에서는 다양한 활동과 진로체험을 위하여 지역에 맞는 연계 프로그램이나 학생들이 원하는 전문가를 섭외하는 등의 시도가 부담스러울 수 있다. 따라서 향후 대구지역의 자유학기제 안정적인 정착을 위하여 첫째, 교사의 과중한 업무를 해소하고 보다 손쉬운 외부 강사 섭외 및 인근 지역 인프라와의 접근 방안을 마련하고, 둘째, 대구지역 중학생의 관심사를 충족시킬 수 있는 음악 프로그램을 외부 음악 단체 및 기관에서 운영하고, 셋째, 학부모 및 지역 음악 단체의 자유학기제 이해를 돕는 연수 프로그램을 개발의 필요성을 제언하였다.
