청소년의 가정 폭력 피해 경험과 자살생각의 관계

Abstract

11년 연속 청소년의 사망 원인 1위가 자살이라는 우리나라의 심각한 현실 속에서 청소년 자살 예방의 효과적 접근에 대한 이론적 배경을 제공함으로써 자살률 감소에 기여하기 위하여 본 연구는 청소년이 경험하는 가정 폭력 피해 경험과 자살생각의 관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 가정 및 부모와의 관계에서의 다양한 경험은 자녀의 심리사회적 발달에 상당한 영향을 미친다는 것이 그 동안의 경험적 연구들을 통해 증명되어 왔다. 이는 우리나라의 심각한 자살 문제에서도 그 중요성이 큰 요인인데, 가정에서 경험하는 폭력 피해 경험이 우울, 불안과 같은 청소년의 심리사회적 영역에 영향을 미침은 물론 나아가 자살생각에도 그 영향이 있음을 기존 연구들을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 자살생각은 자살계획, 자살시도, 자살사망에 이르는 연속적인 개념이므로 청소년의 자살생각에 영향을 주는 요인을 검증하는 것은 자살률 감소를 위한 선행적인 노력으로 볼 수 있겠다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원에서 조사한 한국청소년패널조사(KYPS)의 중학교 2학년 2차년도 패널데이터를 IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0과 AMOS 22.0을 통해 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 청소년의 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 보호요인과 위험요인으로 가정 폭력 피해 경험, 자아존중감, 친구 애착을 제시하여 이들 변수 간의 직접효과와 간접효과를 검증하였다. 이를 통해 얻은 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 측정모형 분석결과 잠재변인인 가정 폭력 피해 경험, 자아존중감, 친구 애착이 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 측정된 것으로 확인되어 기본모형을 검증한 결과 가정 폭력 피해 경험은 자살생각에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 그 수준이 높을수록 자살생각도 증가하는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 구조모형의 적합도는 통계적으로 높은 수준으로 나타났으며, 가정 폭력 피해 경험과 자살생각의 사이에 간접효과가 있음이 검증되었다. 이에 매개효과를 분석한 결과 자아존중감이 가정 폭력 피해 경험과 자살생각의 관계에서 유의미한 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이와 같은 본 연구의 결과는 가정 폭력 피해 경험이 자살생각에 이르는 경로를 밝혀 청소년의 자살 예방 정책적 접근을 논의하기 위한 기초자료를 마련하였다. 또한 본 연구에서 매개효과가 검증된 자아존중감을 활용한 청소년 자살예방 프로그램 개발 방향을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.;The purpose of the study is to contribute to the reduction of suicide rate by providing a theoretical background on the effective approach to adolescence suicide prevention under the serious reality in the nation that the cause of juvenile death for 11 consecutive years is suicide. This study was intended to verify the relationship between adolescent's experience of domestic violence and suicidal ideation. Studies have shown that various experiences in relationships between family and parents have a significant impact on children's psychological and social development. This is also a major factor in the nation's serious suicide problem. Studies have shown that the experience of violence at home affects adolescence psychological and social areas, such as depression and anxiety, as well as even suicidal ideation. Suicidal ideation is a continuous concept that leads to suicide plans, suicide attempts, and suicides, so verifying the factors that affect suicidal ideation can be seen as a proactive effort to reduce suicide rates. In order to verify the proposed model, we conducted a secondary data analysis of Korea Youth Panel Survey of National Youth Policy Institute collected from 3,185 adolescents aged 14 years. For the data analysis, SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 was used. Through Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) analysis, the main results of this study were as follows. First, the analysis of the measurement model found that potential variables, such as domestic violence, self-esteem, and friend attachment, were all measured at statistically significant levels. And the basic model showed that domestic violence victim experience had a significant static effect on suicidal ideation, and that the higher the level, the more likely the suicidal ideation were to increase. Second, the degree of appropriateness of the structural model was shown to be statistically high, and it was verified that there was an indirect effect between the experience of domestic violence and the suicidal ideation. An analysis of the mediated effects confirmed that self-esteem has a significant partial selling effect in the relationship between the experience of domestic violence and the suicidal ideation. The results of this study have provided basic data to discuss youth's policy approach to suicide prevention by identifying the various pathways leading to the idea of suicide by domestic violence victimization. It is also meaningful that the research suggests direction for development of adolescent.
