학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 위한 정치외교학 전공 기본어휘 선정

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to select basic technical words for Korean learners intending to major in political diplomacy in domestic universities and foreign students majoring in political diplomacy in their freshman year, analyze the characteristics of the words and lay the foundation for base data of vocabulary instruction for the learners with an aim of studying political diplomacy for academic purposes. The following questions are selected to establish political diplomacy basic technical words and analyze them. firstly to collect the political diplomacy basic words and select them and secondly to examine their characteristics. To decide the research method, the concept and classification of academic words in a theoretical background and the way to select words required for learning were identified. This study intended to definitize the concept of 'political diplomacy basic words' by searching the concept and classification of academic words and to set the method and the direction of the study 'selection of political diplomacy basic words' through the consideration of ways to select words. The research process for the selection of political diplomacy basic technical words is as follows. First, to decide political diplomacy basic technical words, five universities with lots of foreign students in human and social studies were selected, a list of books for political diplomacy mandatory courses in the universities was collected and sub-content areas of political diplomacy were chosen. Reflecting the sales of four online bookstores and the number of lending books in the university libraries, five textbooks were selected and around 530,000 raw corpora were established. The established raw corpora were analyzed by word with 'intelligent morphological analyzer 2.0' and the word statistics were calculated, and the analysis of morphemes was carried out using ‘UTagger 2.1.2'. The morpheme tags of the corpora analyzed by UTagger were corrected with ‘Excel 2016’, and only nouns of the corpora were extracted using the filtering function of ‘Excel 2016’. The corpora which had a completed correction and extraction were sorted as highest frequency first with 'integrated Korean data processor(Ggam-Jjak-sae), and Korean basic words and semi-technical vocabulary were deleted. Finally, 582 'political diplomacy basic technical words' were selected, and they were graded either A, which was to be instructed and learned preferentially, or B, which was not. The percentage of each native expression, loanword, Chinese letter and loanblend in the selected political diplomacy basic technical words was identified by word type, and the list of words was classified into four subjects and presented that way. It is considered that the list of political diplomacy basic technical words selected in this study and the analysis of it will not only be a reference for foreign students who plan to major in political diplomacy in domestic universities but also lecturers of language educational institutions who will teach the students, furthermore it could be helpful for publishing textbooks. There are several reasons why the result of this study on the selection and analysis of political diplomacy basic technical words can be considered significant. To begin with, it obtained realistic results corresponding to the learners' needs by establishing the corpora using the textbooks for political diplomacy classes. Moreover, it selected the words synthetically considering not only the frequency of use but also the distributional range and political diplomacy majors' subjective judgement, so it has high reliability and validity. Here are the limitations that this study has as well. First, political diplomacy basic technical words were selected as noun forms with political diplomatic characteristics. However, a list of political diplomacy basic technical words as various parts of speech(verb, adjective and etc.) would be also important. Second, the establishment and correction of corpora was carried out according to the researcher’s intentions since it was an individual study, and the accuracy problem related to the morphological analysis program can be pointed out as one of the limitations of this study. Third, it was not able to suggest either a co-occurrence and sentence pattern information of the words that could be helpful to improve the understanding and expressing of the political diplomacy basic technical words or instruction methods. It is expected that there will be follow-up studies on the words' additional information, suggestions of instruction methods or verification of the selection results.;본 연구의 목적은 국내 대학기관에서 정치외교학을 전공하고자 하는 학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 위한 정치외교학 전공 기본어휘를 선정하고 그 어휘 목록의 특성을 분석하여 정치외교학 전공 어휘 교수의 기초 자료로 제공하는 것이다. 이를 통해 정치외교학 전공 유학생들의 성공적인 학업 수행에 도움을 줄 것이라 기대한다. 1장에서는 정치외교학 전공 기본어휘 선정의 필요성 및 목적을 살펴보고 학문 목적 한국어 교육 관련 연구와 학문 목적 한국어 어휘 선정에 대한 선행 연구를 검토하였다. 학문 목적 한국어 어휘 선정 관련 연구는 세 부분으로 나누어 살펴보았는데, 첫 번째는 학문 전반에서 공통적으로 사용되는 사고도구어에 대한 연구들을 검토해보았다. 두 번째는 인문사회 계열이나 상경계열 같은 특정 계열의 학문 공통 어휘 선정에 대한 연구를 살펴보았고, 세 번째는 특정 전공 어휘 선정에 대한 연구를 중심으로 그동안의 연구 성과를 정리하였으며, 이를 통해 정치외교학 전공의 어휘 선정 연구가 이루어지지 않았음을 확인하였다. 2장에서는 이론적 배경으로 학술 어휘의 개념과 분류를 알아보고, 학습에 필요한 어휘를 선정하는 방법에는 무엇이 있는지 알아보았다. 학술 어휘의 개념과 분류를 알아보는 것을 통해 ‘정치외교학 전공 기본어휘’의 개념을 명확히 하고, 어휘 선정 방법 고찰을 통해 ‘정치외교학 전공 기본어휘 선정’의 연구 방법과 방향을 정하고자 하였다. 3장에서는 정치외교학 전공 기본어휘의 선정 기준 및 절차에 대해 기술하였다. 먼저 정치외교학 전공 기본어휘 선정을 위하여 인문사회 계열 유학생이 많은 대학 다섯 곳을 선정하여 해당 대학의 정치외교학 전공 수업 중 전공필수 과목의 교재 단행본의 목록을 수집하고 정치외교학의 하위 교과영역을 선정하였다. 여기에 인터넷 서점 네 곳의 판매량과 대학 도서관의 대출 횟수를 반영하여 교재 단행본 5권을 정하고 약 53만 어절의 원시 말뭉치를 구축하였다. 구축된 원시 말뭉치는 ‘지능형 형태소 분석기 2.0’을 통해 어절 단위로 분석하여 어절 통계를 산출하였고, ‘UTagger 2.1.2 (유태거)’로 형태소 분석을 하였다. 다음으로는 형태소 태그를 수정하고 명사 어휘만을 추출한 후‘통합형 한글 자료 처리기(깜짝새)’를 이용하여 고빈도순으로 정렬하고 한국어 기초어휘와 사고도구어를 제거하였다. 최종적으로 선정된‘정치외교학 전공 기본어휘’는 전문가 집단의 평정을 통해 A와 B등급으로 나누어 목록화 하였다. 4장에서는 3장에서 선정된 정치외교학 전공 기본어휘 811개를 분석하였다. 먼저 어휘 목록 중 고유어, 외래어, 한자어, 혼종어의 비율을 알아보았고, 어휘 목록의 주제를 4가지로 분류하여 제시하였다. 5장에서는 본 연구의 결론으로 전체 내용을 요약 및 정리를 하고, 본 연구가 가지는 의의와 한계점에 대해 서술하였다. 본 연구는 학문 목적 학습자를 위한 정치외교학 전공 기본어휘 목록을 선정하고 분석하여 정치외교학을 전공하고자 하는 예비 외국인 유학생뿐만 아니라 그들을 지도하는 언어 교육기관 교사들에게도 참고 자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.
