집중적인 부모양육태도, 신경증과 양육스트레스 관계에서 어머니 문닫기의 매개효과

Abstract

본 연구의 어머니의 집중적인 부모양육태도와 신경증이 양육스트레스에 미치는 관계에서 어머니 문닫기 행동이 이를 매개 하는지를 확인하고, 이러한 구조적 관계가 어머니의 취업여부에 따라 집단 간의 차이가 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국에 학령기 이전 자녀를 한 명 이상 양육하고 있는 전업모 169명과 취업모 134명을 대상으로 리서치 회사를 통해 자기보고식 온라인 설문을 실시하였다. 설문지에는 집중적인 부모양육태도, 신경증, 어머니 문닫기, 양육스트레스 척도 및 그 외 인구통계학적 설문이 포함되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0과 Mplus를 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저, 집중적인 부모양육태도, 신경증, 어머니 문닫기, 양육스트레스는 모두 정적으로 유의한 관계를 나타냈다. 집단 간 주요변인들의 평균 차이 검정 결과 두 집단 간 집중적인 부모양육태도가 평균 차이가 유의미하였으며 전업모가 취업모보다 높았다. 다음으로 다집단 분석을 통해 연구에서 설정한 구조모형에서 집단 간 차이가 있는지 검증하였고, 검증 결과 집단 간 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 마지막으로 매개효과 검증을 통해 신경증이 양육스트레스에 미치는 관계에서 어머니 문닫기의 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 집중적인 부모양육태도가 양육스트레스에 미치는 관계에서 어머니 문닫기의 매개효과는 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구는 어머니의 양육신념 및 태도, 심리적 특성, 양육행동이 양육스트레스에 어떠한 과정을 거쳐 영향을 주는지 밝혔다. 어머니의 신경증적 성향이 어머니 문닫기 행동을 통해 양육스트레스를 증가시키는 것을 확인함으로써 부정적인 정서를 완화시키고 부모역할에 대한 유연한 사고를 할 수 있도록 돕는 상담개입을 통해 더 나아가 배우자와 협력적인 공동양육 통해 양육스트레스를 낮추는 방법을 제시한 데에 의의가 있다. 어머니는 취업여부에 따라 집중적인 부모양육태도를 재구성하고 수정하고 양육지원을 받음으로써 양육에 대한 태도를 유연하게 변화시킬 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다. 추후에 집중적인 부모양육태도와 관련 변인들에 대한 후속 연구가 의미가 있음을 제시하였다. ;The present study aimed to explore the mediating effect of maternal gate-closing behavior in the relationship among intensive parenting attitudes, neuroticism, and parenting stress and its difference between full-time mothers and working mothers. A sample of 169 full-time mothers and 134 working mothers who had at least one preschool children were asked to complete the self-report survey measured intensive parenting attitudes, neuroticism, maternal gate-closing and parenting stress. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and Mplus. The main results are the followings. First, the findings in a correlation analysis indicated that intensive parenting attitudes, neuroticism, maternal gate-closing, and parenting stress were positively correlated. Also, the result showed that intensive parenting attitudes of full-time mothers were significantly higher than those of working mothers. Second, the findings revealed that there was no signigicant difference between two groups in the relationship among the variables. Third, maternal gate-closing mediated the link between neuroticism and parenting stress, while maternal gate-closing did not mediated the link between intensive parenting attitudes and parenting stress. The study demonstrated the certain path of the way parenting stress was influenced by maternal parenting beliefs, psychological characteristics, and parenting behaviors. Based on the present findings, the present research implied that parenting stress could be reduced through collaborative co-parenting by alleviating negative emotion and help to think flexibly on their rigid parental role. Depends on the work status, mothers continue to alter and reframe their intensive parenting attitudes, receiving parenting support from others such as their partners, parents, or baby-sitter. In addition, considering the inconsistent results, the need for future research regarding intensive parenting attitudes was suggested.
