현대음악(20세기 음악)에 대한 중등과정 음악교사들의 교수태도와 교수효능감 인식조사

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 현대음악에 대한 중등과정 음악교사의 교수태도와 교수효능감의 수준을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 86명의 현직 중·고등학교 음악교사를 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하고 3명의 현직 교사와 개별면담을 진행하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 연구문제에 따라 통계분석하고, 개별면담의 내용을 요약·정리하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따른 결론은 다음과 같이 정리 할 수 있다. 첫째, 현대음악에 대한 중등과정 음악교사들의 교수태도 수준은 보통수준으로 나타났으며 하위영역별로는 사회적 가치, 적극성 및 흥미, 수업에 대한 태도 순으로 나타났다. 개별면담을 통하여 교사들은 현대음악의 중요성과 가치를 높이 평가하지만 적극성을 가지고 실제 수업에 현대음악을 많이 다루거나, 자주 듣거나, 관련된 연주회를 찾아가는 등의 수업에 대한 태도에서는 부정적인 모습을 보였다. 또한 교사들의 일반적 특성에 따른 교수태도의 차이는 연령이 젊고 교직 경력이 짧을수록 교수태도 수준이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 중등과정 음악교사들의 현대음악에 대한 교수효능감 수준은 보통수준보다 높게 나타났으며 하위영역별로는 결과에 대한 기대감이 개인적 교수효능감보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 개별면담을 통하여 구체적인 현대음악에 관한 이론이나 교수법을 알고 있냐는 질문에 부정적인 응답을 보임으로 현대음악에 대한 자신의 신념이 흔들리며 부정적인 모습을 보였으며 교사들의 노력으로 학생들의 흥미도는 높일 수 있지만 현대음악을 학생들에게 이해시키기는 어렵다는 답변으로 부분적으로 낮은 수준임을 나타냈다. 또한 교사들의 일반적 특성에 따른 교수효능감의 차이는 연령이 젊고, 교직경력이 짧을수록 자기 자신의 교수역량에 대한 신념 수준이 높고 학생들에게 거는 기대감도 높았다. 이상의 결과에서와 같이 현대음악에 대한 중등과정 음악교사들의 교수태도와 교수효능감의 수준은 양적 연구 결과에서는 대체적으로 높은 수준이었으나 질적 연구의 결과가 일부분 다름을 알 수 있었다. 이는 현대음악에 대한 교사들의 인식을 여러 방향으로 심도 깊게 파악하고 나아가 수준을 높이기 위하여 현대음악에 대한 다양한 연구와 교사교육의 필요성을 시사한다. 본 연구를 통해 향후 진행될 현대음악에 대한 연구가 더욱 활발하게 이루어지기를 기대하며 현대음악수업을 위한 유용한 프로그램들이 연구되어 교사들에게 제공될 수 있기를 기대한다.;The purpose of this study is finding out the level of efficacy and attitudes toward the teaching of secondary school music teachers about modern music. For this paper, the Commission conducted research and studied on 86 incumbent middle and high school music teachers and held individual interviews with three current teachers. Statistics were analyzed based on the collected data, and the contents of individual interviews were summarized and analyzed according to research issues. The conclusions of the results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the teaching attitude level of secondary school music teachers on modern music showed just normal in order of social values, areas of interest, and areas of attitude to class. In individual interviews, all three teachers highly appreciate the importance and value of modern music but showed negative response toward initiative attitude about modern music, such as teaching and visit the concert about modern music. According to the results of the statistical analysis to see the difference of teaching attitude based on general characteristics of teachers, the younger age and the shorter teaching career teachers showed the higher level of the teaching attitudes. Second, the level of the teaching efficacy of secondary school music teachers in modern music is higher than normal, and in subcategories, expectations of the results is higher than those of individual teaching efficacy. In individual interviews, a question about recognition of the theory of contemporary music or the method of teaching was asked, the answer was negative. It showed that the interviewees have low level of individual teaching efficacy, because they feel difficulty in understanding modern music for students by their own effort. The statistical analysis results to determine the difference in teaching efficacy depending on the general characteristics of teachers showed that younger and the shorter careers teachers have the strong self-confidence for their own teaching capacity and they gave higher expectation for students. As the above results showed, the level of teaching attitude toward modern music and their level of sense of efficacy is higher in quantity research, but differed in part from qualitative studies. This suggests the need for various studies of modern music and teacher education in order to gain in-depth insight into teachers' perception of modern music and further increase standards. This study expects further study of modern music to be carried out in the future, and useful programs for modern music classes can be studied and provided to teachers.
