A new cavitand ionophore bearing two rigid crown ether groups

Abstract

A new cavitand (1) bearing two rigid crown ether groups has been synthesized from tetrahydroxycavitand (2). The binding properties of this cavitand towards alkali metal ions as well as ammonium ion were also examined. © 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
