도자와 금속 융합을 통한 테이블웨어 디자인

Abstract

사회, 문화적인 다양화와 서로 다른 삶의 방식에서 다양한 분야의 융합은 필수적 요소가 되었다. 새로운 가치 창출을 위해서 융합이 시대적 흐름이 되었다. 공예에 있어 융합이란 다양한 소재의 접목, 즉 서로 다른 특성을 지닌 소재와 기법을 혼합하여 단일 소재가 가지는 단조로움과 기능적인 단점을 보완하고 새로운 가치를 만들어 내는 것이다. 19세기 후반부터 빠르게 진행된 산업화와 20세기 전반에 나타나는 세계화로 인하여 현대인들의 생활수준이 과거에 비해 급속도로 향상되었으며 테이블과 관련된 식문화에도 많은 변화가 일어났다. 한국인의 식생활은 전통적인 밥, 국, 반찬의 상차림으로부터 국제화된 환경으로 서구화되었고 다양한 식문화로 인해 상차림이 변화되었다. 사회가 풍요로워지고 글로벌화 된 현대의 테이블웨어는 단순히 먹는 행위가 아닌 즐기고 감상하는 문화적 차원으로 바뀌었다. 인구 구조의 변화와 가구원의 수가 줄어드는 현상은 모든 식기류를 이용하여 차려먹는 것이 아닌 합리적인 구성으로 도자 그릇 뿐만 아닌 오브제를 활용한 테이블이 구성되고 있다. 테이블웨어의 다양한 구성은 문화 예술적 원활한 대화를 연결시키는 윤활유와 같은 역할을 하고 있다. 이에 따라 현대인의 독특한 취향을 반영해 다양한 특성을 가진 테이블웨어 용품이 요구되고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문은 테이블웨어를 이루는 구성요소들을 살펴보고 다양한 소재 융합을 통해 독창적이고 유니크하게 디자인된 제품에 대해 분석하였다. 근대 디자인의 아버지인 윌리엄 모리스(William Morris)는 산업과 예술의 융합을 미술공예운동(Art&Craft Movement)을 통해 시도하였다. 그 속에서 다양한 소재가 사용되었고 다양한 소재의 융합이 시도되었다. 아르누보의 작가들이 자연주의적인 꽃과 나비를 통한 유기적인 형체를 사용하였다면 본인의 작품에서는 테이블웨어를 사용하며 나타난 유기적인 선들을 이용하였다. 제작에 있어 도자와 금속 소재의 이론적 배경을 알아보고 소재가 가지는 특징을 분석하였다. 주제 표현을 위해 기술적 방법에 대하여 이론적으로 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 모델링한 후 제작하였다. 작품은 총 3 그룹으로 분류하여 구성하였다. 도자는 외부의 오염에 강하고 색이 쉽게 변하지 않으며 무게감이 있어 내구성 있는 몸체 역할을 할 수 있다. 금속에 있어서 탄성이 있는 황동을 사용하여 금속을 유기적인 곡선으로 장식하여 곡선을 표현할 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 연구자의 작품에서는 금속과 도자 소재를 융합하고 유기적인 선의 조형성을 이용해 일반 접시가 금속장식을 통해 심미적 연출과 유용성을 겸비한 새로운 테이블오브제 작품을 제작하였다. 다양한 테이블 오브제의 수요가 증가하는 시대적 요구에 부응하여 현시점에서 본 연구와 작업을 통해 서로 다른 소재의 융합이 새로운 가능성을 보여주고 있으며 변화하는 시대의 식문화 속에서 오브제적 테이블웨어를 통하여 사용자에게 새로운 경험의 기회를 제공하고자 한다.;The purpose of this study is to design and manufacture tableware by fusing ceramic dishes while using object functions. The convergence of social and cultural diversity has become essential. Within the craft field, the convergence consists of mixing various materials that have different characteristics to create new value. As a result, this overcomes the monotony and functional shortcomings of single materials. Due to the rapid industrialization and globalization from the late 19th Century to the first half of the 20th Century, the standard of living of modern people has improved dramatically. In addition, there have also been changes in the dining table and other tableware. The dining table for Korean cuisine has been westernized by presenting traditional rice, soup, and side dishes. Modern tableware has also flourished and globalized from simple dining to a variety of cultural dimensions. The phenomenon behind the changing population structure and the declining number of households is related to table ceramic plates and table objets. The diverse composition of tableware plays a role as the connection that links cultural, artistic, and smooth dialogues. Accordingly, tableware products having various characteristics are able to reflect different cultures and tastes of the modern people. In this research, I have analyzed the formability of tableware and the objets designed through mixed material. William Morris, the father of modern design, studied the fusion of industry and art through the Art & Craft Movement. He attempted to mix diverse material together. Before production, I studied the theoretical background of ceramic and metal material. Next, I implemented the theoretical analysis of the technical method to express the theme. In this study, the total number of work belong into three groups. Ceramic resistant to external pollution, the color did not change easily, and they were able to function as a durable body because of their weight. By using elastic brass in the metal, the metal can be expressed as an organic curve to express the curve. In conclusion, I have analyzed the organic curve line formability, the modernization of tableware, and the objets designed through metal and ceramic fusion. I utilized these points and used my own organic curve lines to build a table objet with new functions. Through this study, you can mix a variety of table objects and other materials to create new possibilities. In today’s day and age where cultures are always evolving, I wanted to provide other users with a new experience using object tableware.
