막(幕)의 형상을 통한 경계적 정체성 표현

Abstract

예술가는 누구나 한번 즈음 작품 활동을 해야 하는 이유나 예술가로서 소명 의식에 대해 생각해 본 적 있을 것이다. 살아가는 목적의식과 에너지의 원천이 개인마다 다르듯이, 예술가의 작품 창작의 이유나 신념 또한 다양하다. 이러한 이유와 신념은 작품 창작을 지속하게 하는 원동력이 된다. 예술가는 예술세계의 범주에 속하기 전에 사회 속 인간으로서 존재하기 때문에 각기 다른 예술적 신념과 목적을 가지고 있다고 해도, 결국 작품의 안에는 사회 속 자신의 모습이 투영되게 된다. 본인은 예술가이기 이전에 사회 속 인간으로서 무의식적으로 관심을 가지고 있는 부분이 무엇 인지를 깨닫는 과정이 필요했고, 본인은 지난 작품들을 객관적으로 살펴보면서 본질적 질문 자체인 자아, 정체성 의 문제에 대해 일관된 관심을 표현하는 것을 알게 되었다. 본인의 작품 활동은 사회 속에 존재하는 크고 작은 상호작용과 그에 영향을 받는 인간 내면세계에 대한 이해를 시각적으로 풀어내고자 하는 열망이 그 근간으로 작용하고 있다. 본 논문은 본인이 오래도록 끈을 놓지 못했던 자아와 정체성이라는 주제에 대한 관념의 정리이자 작품론이다. 본인은 작품 활동에 근간이 되는 배경 부분에서 평소에 사회 속 개인의 모습을 관심 있게 지켜보았던 본인의 의견을 중심으로 풀어보았으며 칼 융의 정신분석개념인 자아의 성질과 에릭 에릭슨의 자아의 사회성에 대해 살펴보고 본인의 의견과 부합하는 부분을 분석하여 본인의 의견을 심화시켜 보았다. 또한 본인은 사회 속 개인의 선택으로 인한 자아의 표상인‘표면화 된 나’ 와 ‘내면의 나’의 모습으로 분류했는데 이러한 두 ‘나’의 상호작용 속에서 일어나는 인간적인 모습을 경계적 정체성이라고 칭하고자 했고 실존주의적인 시각과 기존의 논의들을 참고하여 개인의 정신 뿐 아니라 개인과 외부 타자 사이의 경계적 정체성으로 확장시켜서 내용을 전개해 보았다. 또한 옷가지를 뒤집어 쓴 사람과 천 무더기, 막(幕) 의 형상으로 변화해온 본인 작품을 드로잉을 이용한 표현기법연구와 더불어 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서는 자아의 성찰부터 출발하여 경계적 정체성이라는 개념으로 설명하고 있는 본인 작업세계와 그와 관련된 사유를 객관화 해보기 위한 노력이 주를 이루고 있다. 이를 통해 더욱 깊고 견고해진 사유를 바탕으로 본인의 작업이 더욱 진전되는 방향으로 힘을 실을 수 있도록 길을 모색하고자 한다.;Every artist may have thought about why he should do the work activity or about the vocation as an artist at least once. As the goal of life and the source of energy are different in all individuals, the artist’s reason or faith for creating work is diverse as well. These reason and faith become the driving force for the continuous work creation. Since the artist exists as a human in the society before belonging to the category of the art world, even if artists have different artistic faiths and purposes, their figure in society is reflected in the work eventually. The author needed a process of realizing what the author was interested in unconsciously as a social human before being the artist, and knew the author expressed consistent concern about the problem of ego and identity which was the essential question as examining last works objectively. The desire to visually explain the big and small interactions existing in the society and the understanding of the human’s inner world affected by them is acting as basis for the author’s work activity. This thesis is the arrangement of idea and the work theory about the theme ‘ego and identity’ the author could not give up for a long time. The author focused on the opinion by author who was interested in the individual figure in the society in the background becoming the basis of the work activity, and examined the disposition of ego, the psychoanalytic concept by Carl Jung and the ego’s sociality by Erick Erickson, and analyzed the part according with the author’s opinion to deepen the author’s opinion. The author classified into the ‘externalized me’ and ‘internal me’ which were the symbol of ego caused by the choice by the individual in society; the humane image arising in the interaction between both ‘me’ was defined as the boundary identity, and the content was developed by expanding it to the boundary identity between the individual and other person as well as the individual spirit by referring to the existing discussions and the existential outlook. The author’s work which had turned into the person covered with clothes, a pile of cloths, and shape of curtain was examined with the drawing-using expressive technique. In this study, the effort to objectify the author’s work world explained by the concept called boundary identity starting from the ego introspection and the reason related to it is prevalent. Through this, the effort to develop the author’s work more will be made based on the deeper and solider reason.
