안토니 가우디 건축의 조형적 요소를 응용한 섬유작품 연구

Abstract

급속한 사회 발전에 따라 생활 리듬은 빨라지고, 모든 사람들은 자신의 생존과 발전을 위해 달려가고 있다. 인간 간의 생존 경쟁도 더욱 치열해 지고 있고, 인간이 느끼는 냉정함과 고독감은 이와 비례해서 더욱 깊어진다. 홀로 있는 듯 한 외로움을 의미하는 ‘고독’은 홀로 있는 상태로 인해 야기될 수 있는 감정의 상태를 포함하고 있는 단어이다. 인간은 사회적인 동물로 고독한 존재이지만, 사회속에서 살기 때문에 고독을 외면하고, 때로는 고독에 적응하기도 한다고 할 수 있다. 연구자는 유학생 신분으로 인간이 느끼는 고독감이 본인에게는 어떠한 것이고, 또 어떠한 감정의 상태를 의미하는 것인지 연구하고자 하였다. 유학생할은 겉 보기에 부러움의 대상이 되지만, 이면에는 많은 방황과 어려움이 숨어 있다. 생활의 터전을 떠나 부모님과 헤어지고 마음을 나눌 사람도 없는 낯선 환경에서 유학생들은 스스로가 고독한 존재하고 생각한다. 그러한 고독감은 우울감과 무력함 등 부정적인 감정을 유발시킨다. 의사소통의 어려움, 인간관계, 미래에 대한 불확실 등 여러가지 문제가 부딪혀오면 부정적 감정은 더 깊어지고 혼란스러워 지게 되는 것이다. 그럴 때 외로움을 마주하는 가장 좋은 방법은 숨는 것이 아니라, 그것을 받아들이고, 직시하는 것이다. 연구자는 세월의 흐름에 따라 고독감에 대한 감정이 달라졌다고 생각한다. 처음엔 두려움을 피하지만, 시간이 흐름에 따라 그것이 익숙해지는 것은 인간의 성장 과정에서 본다면 고독은 나쁜 것이 아니며, 사람을 성숙하게 하고, 마음을 강대하게 만드는 것이라는 점을 알게 되었다. 이러한 의식의 발전은 고독감을 주제로 작품을 제작하게 된 연구자의 작업에 많은 의미를 부여해 준다. 본 연구는 유학생활 속에서 경험했던 고독감을 시각적 이미지로 표현하려는 것이다. 내면의 감정을 창의적인 조형작품으로 표현하기 위해 현대건축사에서 큰 획을 긋고 인정받고 있는 스페인 출생의 안토니 가우디(Antoni Gaudi)를 선정하였다. 가우디 건축의 역동적 곡선와 강렬한 색채가 두드러지게 나타나는 작품들을 보고 연구자는 시간의 흐름에 따라 고독감을 긍정적으로 받아들이는 심리적 상태과정을 표현하고자 하였다. 예술작품에서 선과 색채는 시각적인 표현요소로서 작품마다 보여지는 감각의 정도를 경험하게 하는 과정이다. 특히 곡선을 통해 보여주는 시간의 연속성은 끊임 없는 생명력을 느끼게 하면서불안한 감정도 표현 할 수 있다. 더불어 강력한 색채는 관람자에게 시각적 충격을 주는요소로 작가의 심리 상태를 나타낸다. 이와 같은 연구목적에 따라 우선, 이론연구로는 안토니 가우디가 활동할 당시인 19세기 말부터 20세기 초에 유행한 양식과 함께 가우디작품의 특징을 고찰하였다. 또한, 고독감 이라는 감정에 대해 문헌을 통해 연구하였다. 이러한 고찰은 연구자가 유학생활에 적응 하는 상태에 대한 자기고백적 노트를 통해 논문주제와의 연관성을 확인하였다. 더불어 근, 현대예술 중 고독감과 무력함을 표현한 작품을 살펴보았고, 곡선과 색채를 이용해 고독감을 표현한 작품 사례를 검토하고자 한다. 이를 토대로 작품제작은 시각적, 조형적 특징표현을 극대화 하기 위해 머신 스티치(Machine Stitch) 기법을 채택하였다. 특히 머신 스티치 표현이 강조 될 수 있는 광택있는 비스코스사을 사용하고, 알기네이트 호일(Alginate Foil)을 이용하여 제작함으로써 새로운 소재에 의한을 하였다. 가우디의 작품에서 나타나는 곡선의 유기적 특징은 머신 스티치 기법을 통해 작품을 제작 섬세하게 효과적으로 나타내고자 하였다. 알기네이트 호일은 투명도가 높은 소재인데 여기서 투명감은 작품에서 그림자로 표현된다, 즉, 그림자를 통해 고독은 피할 수 없는 감정적 특성임을 나타내는 것이다. 이와 같은 이론적 배경과 기법연구를 바탕으로 곡선과 색채의 조화를 표현하는 섬유조형작품 7점을 제작한다. 작품의 제작과정은 연구자가 느끼는 고독감을 표현하는 과정이다. 이러한 과정을 통해 감정이라는 추상적 개념을 시각화 한 작업들은 연구자의 분신과 같이 관람객과 마주할 것이다.;As society rapidly develops, the rhythm of life increases, and everyone is running for their own survival and development. As the years passed, the researchers had changed his idea of loneliness. The beginning is to avoid, but as time goes on, it becomes very familiar，It is found that it is found in the process of human growth that loneliness is not a bad thing, but a mature and healthy one. The development of this consciousness gives the work significance of the researchers making the work on the theme of loneliness. The purpose of this study is to show the sense of loneliness experienced in the life of study in the visual image. In order to describe the inner feelings as creative works, modern architects have chosen the modern Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. See Gaudi building dynamic curve and the intense colors of outstanding works, the researchers want to show with the passage of time, the process of actively accept the psychological state of loneliness. In art works, line and color are the manifestation of vision, and it is the process of making every piece of work feel the visual effect. In particular, the continuity of the time shown by the curve can not only feel the constant vitality, but also express the uneasy emotion. In addition, strong color is an element of visual impact to the audience, reflecting the psychological state of the author. According to the purpose of this study, it first examines the fashion styles of Gaudi's activities from the end of the nineteenth Century to the early twentieth Century, and the characteristics of Gaudi's works. In addition, through literature research, we have studied the feelings of loneliness. Such an investigation confirms the relevance of the topic to the topic of the paper by the self - expression of the researchers' adaptation to the life of study abroad. In addition, the author will also study the works that depict the sense of loneliness and weakness in modern art and explore the use of curves and colors to express loneliness. On the basis of this, in order to maximize the visual and modeling features, the Machine Stitch technique is used.In particular, materials using the polish of viscose rayon and alginate foil were used. The characteristic of the curve embodied in Gaudi's works is to show the meticulous effect of the work through the technique of machine needling. Alginate foil is a material with high transparency, and the sense of transparency here is shown in the work. That is, the expression of sadness through the shadow is an unavoidable emotional feature. On the basis of this theoretical background and technical research, 7 pieces of fiber modeling works that reflect the harmonization of curves and colors are made. The process of making a work is a process of showing the loneliness of the researchers. Through such a process, show the emotion of this work in front of the audience.
