조선시대 산릉도감의궤山陵都監儀軌에 기록된 사수도四獸圖의 상징 색채

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 조선시대 山陵都監儀軌에 기록된 四獸圖의 형태와 상징 그리고 색채를 분석하여 체계적으로 정리하는 것이었다. 또한 사수의 기본적인 상징에만 국한되지 않고 조선왕실의 상징과 연관하여 의궤에 수록된 사수도의 상징 의미를 해석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 산릉도감의궤의 개요를 살피고 사수의 정의를 고찰하였다. 사수의 기원과 정의를 살펴 본 후 한국, 특히 조선시대를 중심으로 사수의 원형의 형태, 온전히 사수가 등장한 경우와 그와 연관된 상징을 정리하였다. 사수의 원형은 왕실에서 사용한 목공예, 궁궐의 전돌 문양, 와전瓦塼과 함께 왕실의 의장기儀仗旗, 경복궁 근정전 난간 석주石柱 등을 살펴보았다. 색채분석을 위해서 분석 대상은 서울대 규장각 한국학연구소가 소장하여 제공하는 산릉도감의궤를 기준으로 진행하였다. 한국학 연구원에서 소장하고 있는 의궤 23권의 산릉도감의궤 중 채색彩色 사수도가 수록된 17개의 산릉도감의궤가 본 연구의 분석 대상이며 총 이미지는 68장이다. 이 이미지의 색채를 수집한 후 큰 형태변화와 세부 형태의 색채구성을 파악하였다. 색채 분석은 NCS Color System 의 색상환을 이용하여 세부형태 색채를 정리하였다. 청룡의 도상에서 대표 색채는 용 비늘에서 청색으로, NCS 기준 R70B, B10G 의 저채도 저명도의 뉘앙스로 나타났다. 여의주 구슬의 대표 색채는 녹색으로 G, G10Y, G30Y의 채도 20 뉘앙스의 다양한 명도로 분포하였다. 주작의 깃털은 적색으로 주작 형태의 대부분을 차지하는 색으로 Y70R, Y80R의 고채도와 저채도 뉘앙스로 나뉘어 구분할 수 있었으며 백호의 중심 형태이자 색채를 보여주는 몸통은 백색이지만 G80Y의 고명도 저채도 뉘앙스를 나타내고 있다. 현무의 몸통의 대표 색채는 흑색 계열과 B계열의 청색으로 정리할 수 있었다. 색채와 상징의 관계로 사수의 형상은 가장 기본적으로 수호를 의미하는 방위를 상징하였고 길상의 의미와 함께 각 도상의 화염火焰과 적색이 왕의 권위를 상징함을 확인할 수 있었다. ;The purpose of this study was to analyze systematically the form, symbol, and color of the Painting of Four Deities shown in Uigwe for the Construction of Royal Tomb in the Joseon Dynasty. In addition, it was not limited to the basic symbol of Four Deities but wanted to interpret the symbolic meaning of the Painting of Four Deities contained in Uigwe in connection with the symbol of the Joseon royal family. For this purpose, I looked at the outline of Uigwe for the Construction of Royal Tomb and examined the definition of Four Deities. After examining the origins and definitions of Four Deities, We have summarized the case of the prototype of Four Deities. especially in the Joseon Dynasty, and the symbols associated with it. For the color analysis, the subject of analysis was based on Uigwe for the Construction of Royal Tomb which is provided by the Institute of Korean Studies at Kyujanggak in Seoul National University. 17 items out of 23 in the Korean Studies Institute were included in this study. The total number of images is 68. After collecting the colors of this image, we grasped the large shape change and the detailed color composition. Color analysis was performed by using the color wheel of NCS Color System. The representative color in blue dragon was blue, and the nuance of low saturation clarity of R70B, and B10G based on NCS appeared. The representative colors of Yeouju beads were green, and were distributed in various colors with 20 nuances of saturation of G, G10Y, G30Y. The feathers of Phoenix were red, which occupied most of the main forms, and were distinguished into high-brightness and low-saturation nuances of Y70R and Y80R. The body of the white Tiger and the color of its body are white, but the G80Y has a low saturation nuance. Typical colors of Black Tortoise can be arranged in black and blue. As a result of the relationship between color and symbol, the shape of Four Deities symbolizes the defense which means basically the patronage, and it is confirmed that the fire flame and red of each image symbolize the authority of the king.
