Abstract
Beethoven의 『Piano Sonata No.21 in C Major, Op.53』, F. Liszt의 『Piano Sonata in b minor, S.178』, M. Ravel의 『Sonatine in f-sharp minor, Op.40』에 관한 작품해설이다. Maurice Ravel(1875-1937)의 『Sonatine in f-sharp minor, Op.40』은 1903-1905년에 걸쳐 작곡한 3악장 구성의 곡이다. This thesis is explanation about L. v. Beethoven - 『Piano Sonata No.21 in C Major, Op.53』, F. Liszt - 『Piano Sonata in b minor, S.178』 and M. Ravel - 『Sonatine in f-sharp minor, Op.40』 are my own graduate recital for master’s degree. Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827) - 『Piano Sonata No.21 in C Major, Op.53』is representative piece in 1803-1804, his middle-period piano sonata work. Also, it has A subtitle named “Waldstein”- Beethoven’s patron, Count Ferdinand Ernst Joseph Gabriel von Waldstein – because Beethoven dedicated this piece to him. This sonata Consists of 3 movements, the first movement is in Sonata form, the second movement is in a slow trio form and the third movement is finished with rondo form. In this period the new improved piano introduced. So the composer tried new styles with experimental mind-without typical classical sonata form, using broaden Scale, lyrical melody and oppositive rhythms and dynamics - and his own unique style. The only piano sonata of Franz Liszt(1811-1886) - 『Piano Sonata in b minor, S.178』is composed between 1852 and 1853. And this piece is dedicated Robert Schumann(1810-1856). This sonata has single movement, but through the thematic transformation(transform and develop 5 main subjects), it shows unity of whole piece of music and diversity of expression. Also it requires splendid technique and abundant sound volume. Maurice Ravel(1875-1937) - 『Sonatine in f-sharp minor, Op.40』 is consisted of 3 movements in 1903-1905. The first movement and third movement are sonata form, The second one is compound ternary form. The main motive is featured with cyclic form in the whole music with impressionism style composing technique such as mode, diatonic scale, pentatonic scale, contrary motion. On the traditional form, the composer combined musical impressionism characters made new style with his own personality and he gave influence on next generation – neoclassical music and the spirit of the era.
