한국어 교재의 듣기 텍스트 실제성 분석

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the authenticity about listening text of Korean language textbook. Subjects for the study are Korean language textbooks printed since 2010 and used as the main textbook at Communicative Language Teaching classroom. Especially, this study focused on the beginner and intermediate level. Therefore, this study processed and traced with methodology of authenticity analysis research the listening text of Korean language textbook. The specific research problems are as follows: 1. To improve communicative competence, the listening text of Korean language textbook reflects the elements of audio material, linguistic authenticity, pragmatic authenticity. 2. There are some differences of the authenticity between the beginner level and the intermediate level. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher collected 12 textbooks and classified monologue text and dialogue text. 68 listening text of the beginner level and 112 listening text of the intermediate level were analysed with the elements of authenticity and presented for the frequency and the rate. The elements are categorized to the audio material circumstances, the linguistic and the pragmatic. The analysis results are as follows: 1. The authenticity listening text was presented frequent and familiar words both the beginning and the intermediate. 2. No Significant differences about aspects of reflected authenticity exist between the beginner level and the intermediate level. Even in the intermediate level, the rate was lower than the beginner level. Although we believe that additional research is needed, the results further indicate that authentic text will be developed in more diversified ways. This study suggested that the authentic listening text should be included various elements of back ground sound and spoken language, it helps L2 learners to improve communicative skills in real world.;본 연구의 목적은 의사소통 중심 한국어 교육에서 사용되는 듣기 텍스트 중에서 교재에 나타난 듣기 텍스트의 실제성을 분석하는 데에 있다. 분석 대상은 현재 한국어 교육 현장에서 사용되고 있는 통합형 교재로 초급과 중급으로 나누어 분석하였다. 세 종류의 교재는 초급과 중급 모두 2권으로 나누어 구성되어 있었으며 각각 6권씩 12권의 교재에서 듣기 텍스트를 선정하였다. 듣기 텍스트의 실제성을 분석하기 위하여 분석 기준을 설정하고 그 기준에 따라 출현 빈도와 비율을 분석하여 실제성의 반영 정도를 분석하기 위한 구체적인 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 의사소통 능력을 목표로 하는 한국어 교재의 듣기 텍스트는 실제성을 얼마나 반영하고 있는가? 1-1. 한국어 교재의 듣기 텍스트는 실제성의 요소 중 외부 소리와 배경 효과와 같은 환경적인 요소를 얼머나 반영하고 있는가? 1-2. 한국어 교재의 듣기 텍스트는 한국어의 구어적인 특징과 담화적인 특징을 얼마나 반영하고 있는가? 2. 한국어 초급 교재와 중급 교재는 실제성에 어떤 차이를 보이는가? 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 분석 대상의 교재에서 대화형 듣기 텍스트를 1차로 선정하여 배경 효과와 내용을 전사하였고, 음성 파일을 추출하여 분류하였다. 전사와 추출을 통해 분류된 듣기 텍스트의 실제성을 분석할 기준을 환경적 요소, 언어적인 요소로 나누고 언어적인 요소는 다시 구어적인 요소와 담화적인 요소로 나누어 출현 빈도와 양상을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 설정한 연구 문제에 대해 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국어 교재의 듣기 텍스트에 반영되어 있는 실제성을 분석하기 위한 기준에 따라 음성 자료의 특성이 가지고 있는 환경적인 요소를 분석한 결과 초급과 중급 교재 모두에서 배경 효과음과 소음이 나타나고 있었다. 그러나 모든 텍스트에서 나타난 것은 아니며, 매우 제한적인 효과음이 사용되고 있었다. 이는 교재의 특성상 발화 중간에는 학습자의 이해를 방해할 수 있다는 점을 고려하여 배경 효과나 소음이 사용되지 않았음을 추측할 수 있다. 둘째, 듣기 텍스트가 가지고 있는 언어적인 특징을 구어적인 요소와 담화적인 요소로 나누어 분석한 결과 구어적인 요소의 경우 생략과 축약, 통용 발음의 요소가 모두 나타났으나 그 빈도가 매우 낮았다. 담화적인 요소의 경우 순서 교대에서 사용되는 끼어들기와 머뭇거림 등 현상은 발견되지 않았으며 발화 속도도 실제 발화 속도보다 느리게 되어 있어 실제성이 다소 떨어지는 양상을 보였다. 초급과 중급 교재 모두 실제성의 요소가 일정 부분 반영되어 있었지만 표현 양상과 빈도의 차이가 있었으며 교재마다 다르게 나타났다. 실제성을 반영해야 한다는 주장이 계속되어 왔지만 구체적인 반영 원리와 기준이 아직도 명확하게 나와 있지 않음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 초급과 중급 교재에서 나타나는 실제성의 빈도와 양상은 전체 횟수와 표현 양상에서 차이를 보였다. 발화 속도에서도 중급이 초급보다 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 전체 규모에서 실제 반영된 비율을 분석한 결과 초급과 중급의 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았으며 숙달도가 증가하면서 실제성이 더 반영될 것이라고 예상되었으나 종류와 내용의 증가는 있었지만 반영 비율의 유의미한 증가는 없었다. 이상과 같은 분석 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구가 갖는 의의는 첫째, 의사소통 중심의 듣기 교육에서 필요한 듣기 자료의 하나인 교재 내 듣기 텍스트의 실제성을 초급과 중급으로 나누어 비교 분석하였다. 둘째, 듣기 텍스트의 특징에 따른 실제성의 요소와 발화 속도와 같은 음성 자료적인 특징에 해당하는 실제성의 요소를 분석하여 실제성의 반영이 여러 각도에서 이루어져야 함을 시사하였다.
