Abstract
Byeolkok is a separate wind and string instruments ensemble piece, which is a mixture of Yeongsanhweisang with Dodeuri and Cheonnyunmansae. This thesis is concentrated on a method to perform the melody of the compositional way which include Songguyeojikok to Sanghyundodeuri, Hahyundodeuri, Yeombuldodeuri, Taryeong and Gunak from the five different version being played. Also to find the relationship between Haegum and Yanggeum, we had to separate pieces into Dodeuri jangdan and Taryeong jangdan. First, as a result of comparing and analyzing the melody form of Dodeuri jangdan, the most common melody type appeared in the Songguyeojikok, Hahyundodeuri, Yeombuldodeuri was cognate melody. For Sanghyundodeuri chapter 4, the most common melody type was separate melody. The cognate melody most frequently appeared in each piece of music was 'the rhythm type is the same but the compositional note is different'. The rhythm type showed in the Songguyeojikok, Sanghyundodeuri chapter 4, Hahyundodeuri, Yeombuldodeuri, both Haegum and Yanggum was '󰁜'. Second, the result of comparing and analyzing the melody of the Taryeong jangdan, the most common type appeared in the Taryeong and Gunak was the cognate melody. The most common type of cognate melody was ' rhythm type is the same but compositional sound type is different' and for the Gunak, type 'compositional sound type is similar but the rhythm is divided and the note is added' and ' compositional rhythm were both different types'. The most popular rhythm type was '♩♪' rhythm type in both haegum and Yanggum. Third, there were different melody development methods of Haegeum and Yanggum in the 2 different jangdans .In the performance of the Dodeuri Jangdan music, Haegeum uses the bow to play the continuous tone and develops the melody by using the bows of the rhythm, while Yanggum plays a role of presenting the rhythm by using the method of pointing out the melody. In contrast, Taryung Jangdan music, Haegeum plays a role of playing the rhythm by dividing rhythm while Yanggum divide the rhythm and add the ornament to develop the melody. In order to summarize the above results, the average of the six pieces came to identical melodies was 21.57%, similar melody was 46.8%, and the cognate melody was not as high as 31%. The reason why there are so many similar melody frequencies are that even if they play the same melody, Haegeum plays the melody in the correct bass, while the Yanggum plays it with ornaments. Through the melody form and rhythm contrast of the Haegeum and the Yanggum, we confirmed that the relationship between the two instruments are cooperated.
