Abstract

칼 마리아 폰 베버(Carl Maria von Weber, 1786-1826)는 독일 낭만주의의 대표적 작곡가로, 열 편의 오페라와 극적인 성격이 두드러지는 기악 작품, 실내악, 가곡 등 다양한 작품을 남겼다. 그는 특별히 이국적인 음악에 관심을 가지고 있었고, 여러 지역의 음악적 요소를 적극적으로 자신의 작품에 사용하였다. 또한 그는 어린 시절부터 형성된 극음악에 대한 깊은 이해를 바탕으로 기악작품들에서도 극적인 음악을 구현하고자 했고, 이러한 관점 하에 형식을 자유롭게 변화시킨 곡이나 화려하고 비르투오조적인 면모가 돋보이는 작품들도 남겼다. 본 논문에서는 베버의 바순과 피아노를 위한 작품 <Andante and Hungarian Rondo for Bassoon and Piano Op.35>의 분석을 통해 기악작품에서 극적인 음악을 만들기 위해 베버가 어떻게 음악을 구성하였는지, 그리고 이국적인 음악 요소인 헝가리의 음악적 특징이 구체적으로 어떤 요소들에서 드러나는지를 알아볼 것이다. 이와 더불어 이 작품의 세부적인 구성 방식과 그 안에서 나타나는 선율과 화성, 그리고 리듬의 특징들을 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 분석에 앞서 베버의 생애를 통해 그의 음악세계가 형성되는 데에 어떠한 요인들이 영향을 미쳤는지 알아보고, 시대적 배경을 바탕으로 베버의 음악적 성향과 주요 작품들을 알아볼 것이다. 본 논문은 베버의 작품세계에서 중요한 역할을 하는 극적인 음악, 이국적 음악 소재, 형식변화 등의 여러 요소들을 폭넓게 살펴보고, 분석을 통해 <Andante and Hungarian Rondo for Basson and Piano Op.35>에서 나타나는 베버 음악의 특징들을 알아보고자 한다.;This thesis is an analysis study on Carl Maria von Weber(1786-1826)’s <Andante and Hungarian Rondo for Bassoon and Piano Op. 35>. Carl Maria von Weber, as a one of the most representative composers of German, composed 10 operas and several dramatic instrumental works, chamber music, lied, and so on. He particularly fascinated by exotic music then and used the musical sound of various region in his works. Furthermore, he attempted to make his instrumental music dramatic, since the profound understanding of drama music which was developed in his early age ever. In this study, through an analysis about <Andante and Hungarian Rondo for Bassoon and Piano Op.35>, it aims to figure out the way of articulate dramatic character and to find specific section which seems to Hungarian musical features. Also it range over structure in details, and characteristics of melody, harmony, and rhythm. Analyzing <Andante and Hungarian Rondo for Bassoon and Piano Op.35>, via observing the Weber's life, determined what affected the formation of musical world of Weber. And Weber's works and his musical tendency will be emerged by study on his life of period. Ultimately, this study figures out some important features of Weber's music, for example dramatic music, exotic elements, and tries to identify the features in Andante and Hungarian Rondo through an detailed analysis.
