Abstract
While the Mobile Node (MN) is performing handover, the Quality of Service (QoS) requirement of MN will not be able to be guaranteed until the resource reservation of a new path has been completed. Therefore, it is need to pre-resource reservation on the new path before the handover of MN. In the pre-resource reservation, if there is a common path between old and new path, it is important to discover the Crossover Node (CRN) for avoiding duplicated resource reservation on a common path. The CRN is a starting or ending point of common path. In Next Step in Signaling (NSIS) is the resource reservation protocol the Discovery of CRN is generally achieved by using a Session ID (SID), flow information which changes due to the handover of MN and peer node information. However, when the pre-resource reservation achieves on the new path of mobility possible area in advanced to the handover, it is difficult to apply the existing CRN Discovery mechanism because the information about flow and peer node is not yet changed. Therefore we proposed the Passive CRN (PCRN) discovery scheme by the NSIS signaling transmission through current reserved path. The PCRN means a meeting point between the current reserved path and the new path of MN's anticipated handover area. We also proposed the pre-resource reservation in order to avoid the duplicated reservation on the new path.
