Abstract
The SO3H-tethered imidazolium and triazolium salts, nonvolatile and recyclable Brønsted acidic ionic liquids, efficiently mediate intramolecular hydroalkoxylations of alkenyl alcohols. They have been successfully employed in the synthesis of (±)-centrolobine. © 2011 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
