성단(star cluster) 이미지를 응용한 패션디자인 연구

Abstract

현대 패션디자인은 다양한 분야에서 영감을 얻어 그 표현 영역이 확대되고 있다. 우주의 이미지도 영감원으로서 예외가 아니다. 오늘날 우주에 대한 활발한 연구가 다양한 분야의 컨텐츠에 사용되고, 민간우주선을 이용한 우주여행을 준비하는 각국의 관심과 우주개발 등은 디자이너와 예술가들에게 표현의 원천이 되고 있다. 패션 디자인에서도 우주 이미지를 응용한 디자인들이 종종 선보여지고 있으며, 우주가 현실의 일부처럼 구체화되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 우주공간을 이루는 물질인 별, 구름, 가스, 먼지 중 가장 근간이 되는 물질인 별에 초점을 맞추어, 별의 무리인 성단(星團)의 이미지를 모티프로 선정하였다. 또한 자체 에너지로 발광하는 별의 이미지를 강조하기 위한 표현 방법으로 LED를 선택해 활용하였다. LED는 크기가 작고 휘도가 높고 색채가 다양하여, 별빛을 표현하기에 적합하다고 보았다. 본 연구에서는 이론적 배경으로서 문헌자료와 선행 연구 등을 바탕으로 성단과 LED에 관하여 고찰하였다. 아울러 디자인에 적용되는 부분으로서 성단의 조형성을 분석하였고, 현대패션디자인에서 성단이미지가 적용된 사례를 살펴보았다. 또한 현대패션에 LED가 사용된 사례를 조사하였고 이러한 이론적 고찰을 토대로 작품 계획과 디자인 방향을 설정 하였다. 본 연구에서는 성단 이미지를 패션디자인에 접목하기 위해 열전사 디지털 프린팅 기법을 기본으로 사용하였고, 별빛을 효과적으로 표현하기 위해 LED를 활용하였다. 이렇게 한 본 연구의 목적은 우주공간의 구성요소인 성단의 이론적 고찰과 함께 이미지를 분석하여 그 형태미와 빛 요소를 디자인에 적용함으로써 패션디자인의 표현영역을 확대함에 있다.;Inspired from various fields, the domain of expression in modern fashion design is expanding. Also, for image of universe, to be an origin of inspiration is no exception. Today, active studies are used for contents in various fields. And, World’s interests in space travel by private spaceship, space developments and so on have become designers and artists’ source of expression. In the fashion design, Designs based of the image of the universe have been presented in many case and the universe is concretized as part of the reality. Therefore, in this study, focusing on stars those are most fundamental among materials organizing astrospace such as stars, clouds, gases, and dusts, we selected cluster of stars for motive. And, in order to emphasize the image of the star that emits light with its own energy, the LED was selected as a method of expression. LED was seen to be suitable to express the starlight for small size, brightness and diverse colors. In this study materials of literature and previous researches about cluster of stars and LED were reviewed as theoretical background. In addition, as a part to be applied to the design, the formativeness of the star cluster was analyzed and cases to which the image of the star cluster applied were reviewed. And, instances of LED used for modern fashion were investigated. On the basis of these theoretical considerations, I set the scheme of producing works and direction of design. In this study, in order to project the image of the star cluster on fashion design, thermal transfer digital printing technology was used basically, and LED was applied for effective expression of starlight.
