Johannes Brahms의 Viola Sonata No.1 in F minor, Op. 120 에 관한 연구 분석

Abstract

본 논문은 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)의 「비올라와 피아노를 위한 소나타 작품 120, 제 1번 f단조 (Sonata for Viola and Piano Op.120, No.1 in f minor)」에 관한 연구 분석이다. 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)는 19세기 낭만주의 작곡가로서 19세기에는 인간의 이성과 감정을 표현하는 창조적인 사고방식이 음악에도 새로운 변화를 주었다. 브람스는 고전주의적 음악 기법에 깊은 뿌리를 두고 절대 음악적인 입장을 고수하면서 낭만주의 음악의 특징을 자신만의 색깔로 표현하였다. 브람스 작품의 커다란 비중은 실내악곡에 있었으며 일생동안 24곡의 실내악곡을 작곡하였다. 비올라 소나타 1번 f단조는 그의 첫 번째 비올라 소나타임과 동시에 브람스의 24개의 실내악 작품 중 마지막 곡이다. 이 곡은 전통적인 소나타 형식으로 작곡되었으며, 네 개의 악장으로 이루어져 있고, 전통적인 소나타 형식 안에 다양한 음악적 기법을 볼 수 있다. 형식적으로는 고전주의적 틀을 유지하고 있으나, 그 내용적인 면에서 낭만주의 특유의 서정적 선율과 더불어 다양한 리듬이 사용되며 고전주의 음악의 특징과 낭만주의 음악의 특징의 이상적인 결합이 이루어 진 곡으로 평가받고 있다. 이곡은 피아노가 반주역할에만 머물지 않고 비올라와 대등하게 조직 적으로 균형을 이루고 있다. 본 논문에서는 브람스의 생애, 브람스의 실내악의 작품을 소개하고 그의 비올라 소나타가 작곡 됐을 당시의 시대적상황과 배경을 함께 연구하여 브람스가 추구하고자 하였던 음악관에 대하여 살펴봄으로써 그의 음악을 조금 더 심도 있게 이해한 후, 비올라 소나타 1번을 악장별로 비교, 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다.;This thesis contains the analysis of 「Sonata for Viola and Piano Op.120, No.1 in f minor」that composed by Johannes Brahms(1833-1897), a composer of the Century Romantic era. At this Romantic era from the century, the creative way of thinking which express rationality and emotion of human being led new transition at the world of music. Brahms maintained his position of absolute music rooted in technic of Classical music and all the while he expressed the feature of Romantic music with his own color. Chamber music took a large part of his work and Brahms wrote 24 pieces of chamber music during his life time. 「Sonata for Viola and Piano Op.120, No.1 in f minor 」is not only his first sonata for Viola but also the last work of his 24 chamber music. This sonata is well-known as an ideal balance of combining both Classical and Romantic styles. The structure stays in the style of classical period, but in content wise, this piece contains the style of Romantic period using by rhythmic diversities and lyrical melodies. One other special thing in this sonata is that piano part is not just accompanying the viola part. Both instruments are equally important and build up the magnificent lines by supporting each other. This thesis, therefore, introduces the life of Brahms with his chamber music and analyzes the background and the phases of the times which his Viola Sonata was written. Through these steps for in depth understanding of his music, this thesis aims to compare and analyze the Sonata for Viola by each movement with comprehension of the musical view that Brahms was pursued.
