Abstract

본 논문은 세자르 프랑크 (Cesar Auguste Franck 1822.12.10-1890.11.8)의 Violin Sonata in A Major 에 대해 연구 분석한 논문으로, 프랑크는 훌륭한 Organist며, 음악학 교수이자 작곡가이다 그는 프랑스에서 후기 낭만주의 시대 순수 기악음악을 발전하게 만든 근대 프랑스 음악의 선구자로써, 그의 작품들은 종교적 색체 안에서 고전적 양식을 바탕으로 대위법을 이용한 선율변화, 반음계적 화성, 비교적 짧은 프레이즈의 순환기법, 급변하는 조성, 복잡, 다양한 리듬 사용 등 낭만적 작곡 기법을 더해 고전 음악양식과 낭만 음악적 요소을 합한 음악을 보여준다. 그의 다양한 작곡 기법이 함축된 Violin Sonata in A Major 는 1886년 프랑크가 64세 되던 해 작곡한 곡으로, 그의 유일한 바이올린 소나타로 남았으며, 당시에는 큰 호응을 얻지 못했으나 후대에는 베토벤, 브람스의 소나타와 같은 걸작으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 Violin Sonata in A Major의 이해를 돕기 위해 19C 시대적 배경, 그의 생애, 작품에 대해 다루고, 그의 유일한 Violin Sonata in A Major를 각 악장 별로 분석, 연구하여 곡을 이해하고 연주하는데 도움을 주고자 한다.;This study analyzed Cesar Auguste Franck(1822.12.10-1890.11.8)’s Violin Sonata in A Major. Cesar Auguste Franck was a great organist, musicologist professor, and composer. He was the pioneer of modern French music who developed pure instrumental music during the post-romantic period in France, also his works show the combined music of classical music styles and romantic musical elements by adding romantic compositional techniques such as counterpoint tune change, chromatic chord, cyclic technique of relatively short phrase, rapidly changing tonality, and use of various and complex rhythms, based on classical style within religious landscape. Violin Sonata in A Major connoting his various composition techniques was composed by Auguste Franck at his age of 64 in 1886. It remained his only violin sonata, and although it was not so popular at that time, posterity remembers it as a masterpiece like Beethoven and Brahms’s sonata. The purpose of this study is to understand Franck Violin Sonata in A Major through closely examining the historical backdrop of the 19th century, Auguste Franck’s life, and his work. Also it is to analyze and study Violin sonata in A Major by each movement which would help understanding and playing the song.
