Felix Mendelssohn Cello Sonata, Op. 58, No. 2에 관한 연구분석

Abstract

슈만에 의해‘19세기 모차르트’라고 평해진 멘델스존(Felix Mendelssohn 1809 - 1847)은 낭만주의 시대에서 독특한 위치를 가진 작곡가이다. 이성과 감정의 표현을 중요시하던 낭만시대에 고전 음악의 전통을 이어가고자 했던 그는 바흐를 독일 최고의 위대한 음악유산이라 여기며 청중들에게 바흐의 음악을 알리고자 많은 노력을 했다. 그 결과 마태수난곡을 성공적으로 부활시키며 독일 음악 역사의 전통 계승에 큰 밑거름이 되었다. 멘델스존 첼로 소나타 No.2는 1842년에 작곡된 곡으로 총 4악장으로 구성되어 있다. 빠른 템포의 소나타 형식 1악장, 스케르초의 해학적 분위기 2악장, 느리고 선율적인 아다지오의 3악장, 론도 형식의 4악장으로 되어 있다. 이 곡에서는 제 3화음의 사용과 도미넌트 7화음을 자주 사용함으로 고전적인 양식을 보여준다. 동시에 장조와 단조를 번갈아 사용하고 피아노선율과의 대화 비중을 높임으로서 낭만적인 색채를 가미하고 있다. 본 논문은 위 소나타를 그의 작곡기법과 화성, 선율, 음형에 기초하여 분석함으로써 그의 일생과 작품세계를 이해하고 연주의 폭을 넓히기 위해 작성되었다.;Felix Mendelssohn was accounted as“nineteenth century of Mozart” by Schumann and known as one of the most unique composer in Romanticism Era. During his time, the music was focused on expressing reasons and emotions. But his will was to carry on the spirit of conventional music. He honored Bach and worked hard to spread Bach’s music to the public. As a result, Mendelssohn successfully reinstated the "St. Matthew Passion" and this played a big role in building stable foundation in custom of Germany’s music. Felix Mendelssohn’s Cello Sonata No.2 was composed in 1842 and comprised of four total movements. The first movement consists of sonata form with fast tempo, second movement has bright and droll atmosphere, while third movement (adagio) contains slow and melodic tunes. The last movement in is rondo form. This piece expresses classical sound by using dominant 7th chord and 3rd chord. Also by increasing high proportion use of piano melody and repetition of Major and minor brings out more of romantic tone. This paper analyzes harmony, melody, and motif, of Felix Mendelssohn in order to elaborate his life and works to fully expand and understand his depth of performance.
