Modeling the Joint Mortality of Royal Couples using Copula

Abstract

In this thesis, we analyze joint mortality using married monarch and spouse of British royal family data. Since much aspect of royal's lifestyles are standardized rather than affected by their spouse, we expect that the dependence among royal couples will be weaker than that of normal couples. To support such hypothesis, we compare dependency of the paired lives of royal family with common couples. To construct model of dependence, we use a copula which is a joint distribution function with standard uniform marginals. ;본 논문에서는 영국 왕실부부 자료를 이용하여 종속적인 수명을 분석하였다. 왕실에서는 규칙적이고 정해진 생활을 하기 때문에 배우자가 수명에 많은 영향을 끼치지 않을 것이다. 이에 따라 일반적인 부부의 경우에 비해 왕실부부의 종속성이 더 약할 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 추측에 대한 근거로 왕실부부 수명의 종속성과 일반적인 부부의 종속성을 비교해 보도록 한다. 왕실 부부의 수명 모델링에는 코퓰라 방법을 이용하였다.
