현직 중·고등학교 음악교사를 대상으로 국악교육의 실태 및 인식조사

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 현직 중·고등학교 음악교사를 대상으로 국악교육의 실태 및 인식조사를 하는 것에 있다. 이를 위하여 전국의 중·고등학교 음악교사 146명을 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 연구문제에 따라 빈도분석, 교차분석을 실시하였으며, 개방형 문항은 크레스웰(Creswell, 2007/2010)이 개발한 6단계에 따른 질적 분석을 시행하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국악교육의 전반적인 실태에 관한 응답을 분석한 결과 국악 지도시 가장 자신 있는 영역은 46.0%로‘가창’영역이었고, 그에 따른 이유는‘실기 능력의 충분함’인 것으로 나타났다. 특히 가창 영역 지도시 가장 용이한 요소는‘장단’인 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 국악 지도시 가장 어려운 영역 또한 27.3%로‘가창’영역이었고, 그에 따른 이유는‘실기 능력의 부족함’인 것으로 나타났다. 특히 가창 영역 지도시 가장 어려운 분야는‘가곡’인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 음악 교사들의 성별에 따른 국악교육의 실태 및 인식에 대하여 분석한 결과 거의 모든 영역에서 성별에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 국악 감상영역의 지도시 어려움을 느끼는 이유에 대하여 성별에 따른 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 음악 교사들의 전공에 따른 국악교육의 실태 및 인식에 대하여 분석한 결과 거의 모든 영역에서 전공에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 교사의 장구 반주 능력에 대하여 전공에 따른 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 음악 교사들의 학교급에 따른 국악교육의 실태 및 인식에 대하여 분석한 결과 거의 모든 영역에서 학교급에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 국악 가창 지도시 가장 어려운 분야와 국악 창작 지도시 어렵다고 생각되는 요소에 대하여 학교급에 따른 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 음악 교사들의 경력에 따른 국악교육의 실태 및 인식에 대하여 분석한 결과 거의 모든 영역에서 경력에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 국악감상 지도시 어려움을 느낀 이유에 대하여 경력에 따른 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 음악 교사들의 근무지역에 따른 국악교육의 실태 및 인식에 대하여 분석한 결과 거의 모든 영역에서 근무지역에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 국악감상 영역 지도시 어려움을 느끼는 이유에 대하여 근무지역에 따른 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 일곱째, 질적 분석 결과에 따르면 모든 영역에서 대다수의 음악 교사들이 자신의 실기 능력을 제외하고 공통적으로 수업하지 않는 이유에 대하여 학생들의 흥미의 부족을 가장 주요한 원인으로 꼽았다. 본 연구는 국악교육의 활동영역별 세부적인 인식조사를 실시 한 것에 의의가 있으며, 이러한 연구 결과는 교사의 성별, 전공, 학교급, 경력, 지역에 따라 교사들의 전문성 신장을 위한 세부적인 필요 요구가 다름을 시사한다. 본 연구를 통해 국악교육의 각 영역별 차별화된 국악 연수 및 국악교육 프로그램을 개발하여 음악 교사들의 전문성 신장에 도움을 주고, 나아가 많은 학생들에게 보다 질 높은 국악교육을 제공할 수 있기를 기대하는 바이다.;The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of middle and high school music teachers toward korean traditional music education focusing on musical activities. The survey was distributed to 146 music teachers working at middle and high schools. To analyze the result, Frequency and were used and open questions were analyzed using the methods of Creswell's. The summary of this research was as follows. First, the survey revealed singing was the most confident part to teach because of the sufficient practical ability while singing was also the hardest part to teach because of the lack of practical ability. Second, the survey showed that there was little significant difference between male and female teachers. Especially, there was significant difference of the research regarding appreciation area. Third, the survey respondents revealed that there was little significant difference among music teachers major. But performance ability of Janggu was different depending on the music teacher's major. Fourth, respondent showed that there was little significant difference between school types. Especially, it made significant difference regarding the difficult elements to teach in singing and composition. Fifth, it was found that there was little significant difference among the different stage of careers. The survey showed that the years of teaching experience of teaching was the factor affected teaching of appreciation area. Sixth, the result showed that there was little significant difference among working areas. But there was significant difference regarding the reasons to teach music appreciation area. Seventh, it was found one of the major reasons music teachers did not teach korea traditional music was student's lack of interest. The above results implied that for professional development, music teacher's sex, major, school type, teaching experience, teaching areas should be considered. It is expected that professional development session and programs of korean traditional music should be differentiated, which would contribute to the high quality of korean traditional music education.
