초등학급경영을 위한 교사의 음악 활용 현황 및 인식

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 현장에서 생활 및 학습 지도 시 사용하는 음악의 현황과 인식을 조사하기 위한 것이다. 조사에 동의한 초등학교 교사 190명에게 온·오프라인으로 설문지를 배부하였으며 이 중 123부가 회수되었고 대상자 기준에 맞지 않는 4부를 제외한 최종 119부를 분석하였다. 설문 문항은 개인적인 변인, 생활 및 학습 지도 시 음악 활용 현황, 인식으로 구성되었다. 초등학급 경영 시 생활지도(72.27%)에 비해 학습 지도(82.35%)에서의 음악 활용도가 높았다. 생활 지도 시에 긍정적 정서 함양(33.75%)을 목적으로 동요(32.02%)를 가장 많이 사용한 반면, 학습 지도 시에 동기 유발 자료(39.50%)로 가장 많이 활용되었으며, 교육목적으로 제작된 음원의 사용률(32.97%)이 가장 높았다. 음악 활용은 저학년 담임교사일수록 생활 및 학습 지도 영역에서 전반적으로 활용도가 높았으며, 고학년 담임교사의 경우 학습 지도 중심으로 음악을 사용하였다. 음악 활용 효과의 경우 대부분 긍정적으로 답변하였으나, 음악사용 시 어려움도 함께 보고되었다. 이 외에도 음악 활용 방안에 대한 연수나 자료 제작의 필요성이 확인되었다. 생활 및 수업 지도 시 음악 활용성 등에 관한 다양한 의견이 취합되었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 학교 현장에서 수업 이외에 학생 관리와 교육의 수월성을 높이기 위한 교사들의 음악 활용 방안이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 이를 위한 구체적인 대안이 지속적으로 연구될 필요성이 있다.;The purpose of this study was to examine how primary school teachers use music for classroom teaching and management and how they perceive the experience of using music in their classroom. Questionnaires were distributed online or in person to a total of 190 primary school teachers. Among the questionnaires initially distributed, 123 responses were returned and 119 were included for analysis after excluding four responses that did not meet the participant criteria. The questionnaire focused on demographic information, the use of music during classroom teaching and management, perceived use of music in a classroom. The results demonstrated that greater number of respondents reported to use music for classroom teaching compared to those who have used for classroom management. With regard to the use of music for classroom management, in teachers' attempt to cultivate positive emotional states of students, children's songs were used the most frequently, followed by popular songs. For classroom teaching, music was used to increase motivation of students the most and the greatest number of respondents reported to use music recorded for the educational purpose. Also, while first through third grade teachers showed higher levels of using music for both classroom teaching and management, fourth through sixth grade teachers mainly used music for teaching. Most of the respondents perceived the positive influence of music on their children; however, they also reported that they have experienced difficulties when using music in their classrooms or limitation would be expected. Additional report from respondents indicate the needs for music-related training or provision of materials to support teachers to use music more effectively in their classrooms. This study supports the importance of using music in school environment to facilitate teachers to address education and behavior-related issues of students more effectively. Future studies would be needed to present useful information on music resources that could be utilized by teachers in a variety of contexts at schools.
