국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램이 중학생의 진로결정효능감, 진로성숙도에 미치는 효과

Abstract

성인기로의 이행을 준비하는 청소년들에게 진로와 직업 문제는 해결해야 할 매우 중요한 과업으로, 청소년기에 진로를 선택하고 결정하는 일은 개인의 행복과 삶의 질을 결정하는 중요한 요소이다. 특히 중학교 시기는 자신의 장래에 대한 관심이 보다 구체화되고 증가되기 시작하는 시기로 진로탐색이 가장 필요한 때이다. 학교에서의 체계적이고 효율적인 진로교육의 필요성이 대두됨에 따라 교육부는 학교 진로교육 목표와 성취지표를 정립하였다. 또한 중학교 교육과정 중 한 학기를 학생들이 시험 부담에서 벗어나 자신의 적성과 미래에 대해 탐색·설계하도록 2016년 전국의 모든 중학교에 자유학기제 전면 도입을 추진하고 있으며, 자유학기제 지원을 규정한 진로교육법을 2015년 6월 제정·공포하였다. 현재 학교에서는 2016년 시행될 자유학기제를 대비하여 운영 방안과 운영 주체에 대한 논의를 진행하고 있는데, 한 학기의 진로교육을 진로진학 담당교사 1인이 추진, 운영, 관리하는 것에는 한계가 있기 때문에 각 교과 담당 교사의 참여가 필수적이다. 특히 국어 교과의 내용과 목표는 학생들이 진로를 능동적으로 탐색하고 준비하는 데 있어서 기초가 되기 때문에 국어 교과에서 진로교육 활성화 방안에 대한 연구가 이루어질 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자유학기제의 올바른 정착과 진로교육의 활성화를 이루기 위한 방안으로 국어 교과 통합 진로교육을 개발하여 그 효과성을 검증하는 데 목적을 두고, 효과성을 검증하기 위한 종속 변인으로 진로결정효능감과 진로성숙도를 선정하였다. 이에 따른 본 연구의 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 연구문제 1. 국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램은 중학생의 진로결정효능감을 향상시키는가? 연구문제 2. 국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램은 중학생의 진로성숙도를 향상시키는가? 이러한 연구문제를 검증하기 위하여 중학교 2학년 학생 141명을 실험집단, 비교집단으로 구분하여 실험집단은 국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램을 실시하고, 비교집단은 전통적 국어 수업을 실시하였다. 프로그램 실시에 따른 진로결정효능감과 진로성숙도 차이를 분석하기 위해 동일한 검사지로 사전·사후 검사를 진행하였고, SPSS를 활용하여 공변량 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램은 중학생의 진로결정효능감을 향상시키는 데 효과적이다. 직업정보의 수집, 목표 선택, 계획수립, 문제해결, 자기평가 모든 영역에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났지만, 계획수립 영역에서 실험집단의 변화가 가장 컸다. 둘째, 국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램은 중학생의 진로성숙도를 향상시키는 데 효과적이다. 결정성, 준비성, 확신성, 독립성 모든 하위 영역의 점수가 향상되었지만, 준비성 영역에서 실험집단의 변화가 가장 컸다. 본 연구의 결과가 갖는 시사점과 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구는 2016년 모든 중학교에 전면 도입될 자유학기제의 국어교육에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 둘째, 국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램을 개발할 때는 학생들이 진로교육에 흥미를 갖고 참여할 수 있도록 다양한 글감을 선정해야 한다. 수업에 따라 필요한 자료를 교사의 지원 아래 학생들이 직접 수집하고 구성하여 제작하는 방법도 생각해 볼 수 있다. 교사의 부단한 노력이 필요함을 시사한다. 셋째, 학생들이 국어 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램에 능동적, 적극적으로 참여하도록 토론학습, 문제중심학습, 모듈학습, 협동학습, 역할놀이 등 다양한 학생 중심 교수 · 학습 방법을 적용하여 함을 시사한다. 넷째, 국어 교과 영역인 듣기, 말하기, 읽기, 쓰기, 문법, 문학의 학습 능력을 향상시키고 진로교육 목표도 달성할 수 있는 다양한 학습 활동을 모색해야 함을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결론을 바탕으로 한 후속연구를 위한 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구의 일반화를 위해 여러 지역, 다른 유형의 학교에 대한 추가 연구가 필요하다. 또한 진로결정효능감과 진로성숙도가 지역에 따라, 학교 유형에 따라 어떤 차이가 있는지 살펴본다면 의미 있는 후속연구가 될 것이다. 둘째, 교과 통합 진로교육 프로그램의 교육성과로 좀 더 다양한 변인을 선정하고 이에 영향을 주는 다른 매개 변인을 고려하여 구체적인 모형으로의 발전이 요구된다. 셋째, 교과별 특성이 다르기 때문에 다른 교과에서도 교과에 맞는 진로교육 프로그램을 개발하여 연구한다면, 의미 있는 후속연구가 될 것이다. 넷째, 본 연구에서는 자기보고식 설문에 기반하여 학생들의 진로결정효능감과 진로성숙도 향상 정도를 측정하였는데, 향후 외부 평가자와 인터뷰를 통한 직접 측정과 같은 질적인 측정 방법을 통해 보다 심층적인 연구가 진행되어야 할 필요가 있다.;Career and job issues for young people to prepare for the transition to adulthood are very important tasks to be solved. Career selection and career decision in adolescence are very important factors in determining an individual's quality of happiness and life. Students begin to refine and increase the interest for their future during middle school years. So career exploration is most needed in middle school years. As the systematic and effective career education is needed in schools, the ministry of education established school career education goals and achievement indicator. In addition, the ministry of education is promoting the Free Semester System to all middle schools. Also, for supporting the Free Semester System, the career education law was enacted. To prepare for the Free Semester System, schools are conducting a discussion on the management plan. But for the only one career counseling teacher a school, it is difficult to operate all the career education. So each subject teacher should be required to conduct a student's career education. Therefore, this study presents Korean subjects integrated career education program for the activation of a career education. The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of the program. This study selected career decision making self-efficacy and career maturity for the verification on the effectiveness of the program. Study subjects in this study are as follows. Subject 1. Do Korean subjects integrated career education program have effects on middle school students' career decision making self-efficacy? Subject 2. Do Korean subjects integrated career education program have effects on middle school students' career maturity? To meet the purpose of this study, data was collected from 141 students in the 2nd grade of middle school. Also to confirm the effectiveness of the program, the experiment group received Korean subjects integrated career education program and the comparison group received general Korean education. To analyze the differences in career decision making self-efficacy and career maturity, pre and post tests were conducted in the same test. Analysis of covariance was performed by SPSS. The results are as follows. First, Korean subjects integrated career education program are proved effective in improving career decision making self-efficacy for middle school students. All subcategory score in career decision making self-efficacy was improved, the change in the experimental group was the largest improvement in planning. Second, Korean subjects integrated career education program are proved effective in improving career maturity for middle school students. All subcategory score in career maturity was improved, the change in the experimental group was the largest improvement in readiness. The study results can be summarized by these implications and significances. First, this study is significant in that it provides the basic data required for the Free Semester System of Korean education. Second, a variety of writing should be selected for promoting students' participation in the process of developing the Korean subjects integrated career education program. Also, students can make the necessary data with the help of teachers for class. Teacher's constant effort is required. Third, it should be applied to a variety of student-centered teaching methods(discussion learning, problem based learning, module learning, cooperative learning, role playing, etc) to promote student's participation. Fourth, it should explore a variety of learning activities that can achieve a goal of the career education and a goal of the Korean education at the same time. Based on the results of this study, further research is suggested as follows. First, for the generalization of the study, there is a need for further work on other types of school. If follow-up study collect the differences of career maturity and career decision making self-efficacy depending on the region and school type, the study will be good. Second, a follow-up study is needed to select more various factors. Also the development of a specific model is required in consideration of the other variable mediator. Third, if follow-up study develop a program for the characteristics of the each curriculum, the study will be good. Fourth, quantitative measurements was used for this study, but further studies are needed to select qualitative measurements.
