성인애착과 관계친화 행동의 관계에서 결혼 신성화의 매개효과

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the implication of spiritual/religious cognitions of marriage(sanctification of marriage) among married couples on the relationship between adult attachment and pro-relationship behavior. This study hypothesized that adult attachment would be associated with sanctification of marriage and pro-relationship behavior, and that sanctification of marriage would mediate the relationship between adult attachment and pro-relationship behavior. A sample of 168 Christian couples completed surveys that measured adult attachment, pro-relationship behavior, and marriage of sanctification. To examine the mutual influence, the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model(APIM) was used. The results are as follows: first, both husbands' and wives' attachment anxiety and pro-relationship behavior were partially mediated by their own sanctification of marriage. Second, wives' attachment avoidance and pro-relationship behavior were partially mediated by their own sanctification of marriage. Third, the relationship between wives' attachment anxiety and husbands' pro-relationship behavior was partially mediated by husbands' sanctification of marriage. Taken together, sanctification of marriage was associated with high levels of pro-relationship behavior. Also, sanctification of marriage had mediating effects on the relationship between adult attachment and pro-relationship behavior. These findings suggest that religious cognitions of marriage are important in acting in such a way that protects and maintains a married relationship for Christian couples when a spouse has engaged in a potentially destructive behavior.;본 연구는 심리학 및 상담 현장에서 종교에 대한 관심이 증가하는 가운데, 결혼에 대한 영적/종교적인 지각(Sanctification of Marriage)이 성인 애착과 관계친화 행동의 관계를 매개하는지 자기-상대방 상호의존 모델을 적용하여 알아보았다. 본 연구에는 같은 종교를 공유하는 기독교인(개신교/천주교) 부부 168쌍(총 336명)이 참여했고, 이들을 대상으로 성인 애착(애착 불안 및 회피), 유신론적 결혼 신성화, 관계친화 행동에 관한 설문을 실시했다. 수집한 자료를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주요 변인들의 상관 분석 결과, 남편과 아내의 애착 불안 및 회피는 자신과 배우자의 관계친화 행동과 유의한 부적 관련성을 나타냈다. 또한 성인 애착과 결혼 신성화의 관계에서 남편과 아내의 성인 애착은 자신의 결혼 신성화와 유의한 부적 관련이 있었고, 아내의 애착 불안 및 회피는 남편의 결혼 신성화와 유의한 부적 관련성을 보여주었다. 남편의 애착 불안 및 회피의 경우 아내의 결혼 신성화와 유의한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 마지막으로 남편과 아내의 결혼 신성화는 모두 자신과 배우자의 관계친화 행동과 유의한 정적 관련성을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성인 애착과 관계친화 행동의 관계에서 결혼 신성화의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 남편의 결혼 신성화는 남편의 애착 불안과 남편의 관계친화 행동의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났고 아내의 애착 불안과 남편의 관계친화 행동의 관계를 부분적으로 매개했다. 또한 아내의 결혼 신성화는 아내의 애착 불안 및 회피와 아내의 관계친화 행동의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 다시 말해 남편의 애착 회피를 제외하고, 기독교인 부부에게 있어서 애착 불안과 애착 회피는 자신의 결혼 신성화에 부적인 영향을 주어 자신의 관계친화 행동을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 아내의 애착 불안은 남편의 결혼 신성화에 부적인 영향을 주어 남편의 관계친화 행동을 어렵게 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 결혼 신성화에 관한 국내 첫 연구로, 성인 애착과 관계친화 행동의 관계에서 결혼 신성화의 역할을 밝혔다. 둘째, 성인 애착이 결혼 신성화의 선행 변인으로 작용할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 마지막으로, 부부 관계 안에서 성인 애착과 결혼 신성화, 관계친화 행동의 상호역동적인 관계를 탐색함으로써 자신에게 미치는 효과와 상대방에게 미치는 효과를 함께 알아본 것에 의의가 있다.
