Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 본인의 석사 졸업 리사이틀의 연주곡목에 대해 간략한 분석과 해설을 정리해보는 것이다. Beethoven의 Piano Sonata No. 13, Op. 27, Nr. 1은 새로운 형식의“환상곡풍 소나타”라는 부제가 붙은 소나타로 베토벤의 중기 소나타 작품에 속하는 작품이다. 모든 악장들이 subito attaca로 연결되어 마치 한 곡의 판타지와 같은 느낌을 주는 이 소나타는 순환요소를 이용하여 통일성을 보여주고, 조성의 관계와 화성진행 등 많은 부분에서 연관성을 보여준다. 미국의 젊은 작곡가 이안 디케 (Ian Dicke, 1982~)의 White Parasol은 이안 디케가 2008년 BBC 방송에서 지구온난화로 인한 빙붕 유실(氷棚 流失)에 대한 뉴스 기사를 읽고 영감을 받아 작곡한 곡이다. 작곡가는 청중으로 하여금 지구 온난화 문제에 대한 경각심을 불러일으키기 원하며 음악적으로는 청중 개인의 해석에 여지를 남겨두기를 원한다. 또한 이안 디케는 다양한 악기의 사용으로 현대 음악을 작곡하고 있으며 현재 University of California, Riverside에서 디지털 작곡과 조교수로 후학양성에 힘쓰고 있다. Rachmaninoff의 Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 28은 “파우스트 소나타”라는 부제가 붙은 작품으로 리스트의 파우스트 심포니에서 영감을 드레스덴 시기에 작곡된 곡이다. 후기 낭만 형식과 라흐마니노프 본인의 음악적 스타일이 잘 가미된 곡이다. 그러므로 이 두 작품은 많은 공통점을 가지고 있는데 라흐마니노프의 소나타 1번은 Dies Irae 모티브, 러시안 벨 사운드, 러시안 정교 성가 등의 사용으로 리스트의 작품과는 다른 특유의 라흐마니노프 음악적 스타일을 구축하였다.;Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 13, Op. 27, Nr. 1 is subtitled “Sonata quasi una fantasy”. Beethoven’s life and works are divided into three periods according to music scholars and Sonata No. 13, composed in 1801, belongs to Beethoven’s second period. Compared to his early sonatas, this one is obviously in a new style which combines the sonata form and the style of fantasie. In this sonata, all of the movements are connected giving a sense of a fantasie. The cyclic elements are used to create a unity, and the tonal relations and harmonic progressions all contribute to the long continuous flow within the work. White Parasol is written in 2008 by young American composer, Ian Dicke. The origin of the work stems from the composer encountering the BBC article about the loss of ice shelf in Canada, with which he was deeply involved. This work is highly descriptive and reminds audiences to think about global warming. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 28 was written in Dresden in 1907. This work is said to be inspired by Liszt’s Faust Symphony. There are, therefore, some similarities between the two works in regards to musical formats, structures, and the ways they depict each character. In addition to the traces of Liszt’s musical traits, Rachmaninoff presented an especially unique musical style using Dies Irae motive, Russian bell sounds and Russian Orthodox church chants.
