F. Liszt 피아노 작품 순례연보 중 단테소나타(Apre's une Lécture de Dante)에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 대학원 졸업 연주회에서 연주되었던 작품 중에서 프란츠 리스트(Franz Liszt, 1811-1886)의 단테 소나타(Aprés une Lécture de Dante)를 연구한 것이다. 낭만주의를 대표하는 리스트는 피아노곡, 편곡, 관현악 곡 등 많은 작품을 남겼으며 특히 문학작품과 미술작품으로부터 영감을 받아 표제음악이란 장르를 확립한 작곡가이다. 그의 젊은 시절의 작품을 살펴보면 화려하고 기교적인 외향적 편곡들이 주축을 이루고, 중년기 때의 피아노곡과 그밖에 작품들은 기교를 과시한 창작곡이 주로 이뤄져 있으며 노년기에는 청중들보다는 자신을 위한 곡으로 평화롭고 내면적이며 조용한 곡들로 주를 이루고 있다. 대부분의 곡에 표제 음악적 특징이 나타났고, 기존의 소나타 형식과는 다르게 좀 더 자유로운 형식을 사용하였다. 20세기의 인상주의를 예견하는 화성을 사용하면서 다음 세대에 많은 영향을 끼친 작곡가이다. “단테 소나타(Aprés une lecture de Dante)”는 ⌜순례 연보 제2년: 이태리⌟(Années de Pélerinage Deuxiéme année: Italie)중 마지막 7번째 수록 된 작품이며 단테(Dante Alighieri 1265-1321)의 문학작품 신곡(La Divina Comedia)에서 지옥부분만 나타나는 게 아니라 단테의 “신곡” 전체를 표현하고 있다. 리스트만의 특징적 기법인 대조적인 셈여림, 옥타브의 관현악적 효과, 반음계, 증4도 음정을 이용하여 지옥의 관념을 묘사하였으며, 트레몰로나 아르페지오, 반음계 하행, 고음역에서의 옥타브 사용으로 아름다운 천국을 표현하였다. 단테와 베아뜨리체의 사랑도 묘사된다. 단테소나타는 D minor와 증4도의 음정으로 시작하여 D Major와 완전5도로 마무리함으로써 지옥에서 천국으로의 과정을 묘사하고 있다. 소나타 풍의 환상곡(Fantasia quasi Sonata)’라는 부제에서 알 수 있는 바와 같이 도입부-제시부-발전부-재현부-코다 등의 소나타 형식으로 쓰여졌으나 단악장으로 구성되어 있다. 세 개의 주제를 가지고 다양하게 변형시켜 곡을 전개시키는 주제변형기법을 통해 지속적으로 발전, 반복되는 모티브들로 작품 전체에 통일성을 주었다. 이 작품은 환상곡의 특징을 동시에 지니고 있다. 환상곡의 자유로운 분위기를 묘사하기 위하여 도입부 주제인 삼전음과 옥타브 패시지, 반음계 진행, 이중옥타브, 트레몰로, 긴 페달 등을 사용하고 있다.;This paper informs ‘Aprés une lecture de Dante’ of Franz List(1811-1886), which the author played in the master concert for graduation. List, who represents Romanticism, composed and arranged various types of music and is famous for piano music and orchestral music. Inspired by literature and art, he also structured a new genre called 'Program Music.' The numbers of piano songs among his work is about 600, and they take the most important position in his music career. In his early days, he focused on technical, spectacular and extroverted arrangement, but in his old age, his music would consist of the notes that simply brought peace and calmness rather than fancy notes with great skills, and the music seemed to be made for himself rather than for the audience. Most of his music showed the character of 'Program Music,' which was in more free form than the typical Sonata form. He affected his next generation by using the chords that kind of predicted the impressionism in 20th century. His work also showed 'Thematic Transformation;' the way to start with a small motive, then to develop the theme in creative ways. A lot of music masters were revealed in 19th century, and List had accomplished many achievements among them. Inspired by the great violinist Niccol Paganini (1782-1840), he demonstrated the maximum possibility of performing piano by composing and playing with impressive techniques that had not been used yet in the previous time. For example, using continuos octave and continuos 3,6,10 degrees, and processing a chromatic scale would become remarkable accomplishments in the history of pianists. By applying wide range of notes and wide skips, and using various trills and tremolos, he extended the range of piano sound in orchestra as well as the expression of the performance. ‘Aprés une lecture de Dante’, is the 7th music of <‘Années de Pélerinage Deuxiéme année: Italie’>. Its title was named after Victor Hugo`s 27th poem in his book. It doesn't only describe the part of hell in La Divina Comedia of Dante Alighieri, but the whole section of La Divina Comedia. By using his characteristic and dynamic techniques such as orchestral octave effects and chromatic scales and tritones, he described the concept of hell vividly. Also, by using tremolos, arpeggios, and descending chromatic scales and octaves in upper register, he described the concept of Heaven as well. List composed numbers of Fantasy Music in various styles. As the concept of Fantasy Music is defined as "variety," it also needs to be understood in historical views. In the early days, Fantasy Music took no more than a form of contrapuntal imitation, but it developed its form into a free and extempore musical performance in 18th century. In 19th, the definition of it referred to the composer's style of imagination in free forms. In 20th, a modern composing technique for Fantasy Music, based on twelve-tone row, was created.
