베토벤의 바이올린 소나타 제 5번 F장조, Op.24(봄)에 대한 연구분석

Abstract

Ludwig van Beethoven mainly worked in Vienna and was known for ‘Viennese Classic’with Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 to 1809) and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 to 1791). In the late 18th when L.v.Beethoven was in full play, many types of music coexisted so that the harmony of emotion could be included in the music. The previous type of music which had just focused on the melody slowly disappeared and the balance between the melody and accompaniment began to be established. So, L.v.Beethoven can be considered a typical composer who established the classicism and maximized the freedom of expression at the same time during the period of transition. His music is various in kinds and unique in creation technique, and he tried many experimental factors in it so that the characters that the former composers of his time had, could be applied in his music. L.v.Beethoven composed all types of music including 9 symphonies, 1 violin concerto, 5 piano concertos, 1 concerto for 3 instruments (piano, violin and cello), 32 piano sonatas, 16 string quartets, songs for the wind instrument band, and some variations for piano trio. 10 sonatas for violin can be found among them. Out of the 10 sonatas for violin, the 5th in F major, Opus 24 (also known as ‘Spring’) which this study will mainly look into, can be considered a song in which Beethoven’s own musical characters were remarkably reflected as it was created in 1801, just before his musical history of life entered into the second stage. (Dividing his musical history into 3 stages, the second one showed much more characters of Beethoven’s own, while the first one was significantly affected by Haydn and Mozart). This Op.24 was the warmest and the most melodious one out of his 10 sonatas for violin, and the posterity subtitled it with the name of ‘Spring’. In order to understand Beethoven’s overall music history, the background of creation, musical type and characters that the Op.24, aka ‘Spring’ has, will be carefully analyzed in this study.;루드비히 반 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770~1827)은 하이든(Franz Joseph Haydn, 1732~1809), 모차르트(Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1756~1791)와 함께 ‘비엔나의 고전’으로 불리며 비엔나를 중심으로 활동했다. 베토벤이 왕성하게 활동했던 18세기 후반에는 여러 양식들이 공존하던 시기로 음악에 감정의 조화로움을 더하였고, 종전의 선율 중심이었던 음악풍들이 서서히 사라지고 선율과 반주 사이에 균형이 이루어졌다. 즉, 베토벤은 고전주의 양식을 확립시킨 것과 동시에 표현의 자유로움을 극대화한 낭만주의 시대를 펼친 과도기적 역할을 한 대표적인 작곡가이다. 그의 음악은 다양하고, 독창적인 창작 기법을 가지고 있으며 여러 가지 실험적 요소를 시도하는 등 전 시대 작곡가들의 특징들을 자신의 작품에 적용시켰다. 베토벤은 9개의 교향곡, 1개의 바이올린 협주곡, 5개의 피아노 협주곡, 1개의 세 악기를 위한 협주곡(피아노, 바이올린, 첼로, 오케스트라), 32개의 피아노 소나타, 16개의 현악 4중주, 관악기 밴드를 위한 작품, 피아노 3중주에 의한 변주곡 등 모든 장르의 음악을 작곡했다. 그 중에서 바이올린을 위한 소나타로 10곡이 작곡되어있다. 본 논문에서 다루게 될 10곡의 바이올린 소나타 중 제 5번 Op.24 ‘봄’은 베토벤의 음악적 시기를 3기로 분류해 볼 때 제 2기로 들어서기 직전인 1801년에 작곡한 음악으로, 하이든과 모차르트의 영향을 짙게 받았던 1기의 곡들에 비해 베토벤만의 음악적 성향이 더 첨가되어 그의 개성을 엿볼 수 있는 곡이라 할 수 있다. 그리고 Op.24는 베토벤의 10개의 바이올린 소나타 중 가장 따뜻하고 선율적인 곡으로 후세 사람들은 ‘봄(Spring)’이라는 부제를 붙여주었다. 본 논문에서는 베토벤의 음악적 세계를 전반적으로 이해하기 위해 그의 생애를 비롯하여 그의 대표적인 작품인 바이올린 소나타 제 5번 Op.24 ‘봄’의 작곡배경, 음악의 형식과 특징을 구체적으로 연구하려고 한다.
