한국 민화 화조도를 결합한 크로셰 레이스(Crochet Lace) 이미지의 패션디자인

Abstract

현대인은 한 가지 요소가 아닌 다채로운 조합과 다양함이 융합된 환경, 서로 다른 문화를 믹스한 차원 높은 개념들을 경험하기 원한다. 그 독특한 결합들이 만들어내는 신선하고 색다른 개성의 표현은 멋지고 아름다운 것의 가치를 갖는다. 현대 패션에 있어 다양한 문화와 기술, 기법의 융합은 새로운 변화를 만들어 복합적인 감성을 표출한다. 이에 따라 다양한 감각이 창출되며 다채로운 시각적 효과를 갖는 독특한 소재 창출과 그에 따른 기법의 개발이 끊임없이 이루어 지고 있다. 소재의 외형이나 재질에 변화를 주는 이러한 기법들은 패션 표현 영역의 다양성을 부여한다. 이에 본 연구는 수공예적인 예술성과 정교하고 화려한 크로셰 레이스 이미지를 패션디자인 모티프로 활용하고자 한다. 또한 투시성과 다공성의 특징을 지닌 크로셰 레이스 이미지의 조형미를 더하기 위해 한국 전통의 생활 감성과 미의식 표현에 있어 상징성과 장식성이 강한 모티프인 화조도 문양을 결합하여 새로운 이미지를 제시하고자 한다. 이를 효과적으로 표현하기 위해 현대적 기법인 레이저 커팅의 컷-아웃 기법을 적용하여 섬세하고 정교한 이미지를 표현하고 이를 바탕으로 새로운 시각적 효과의 소재를 응용한 패션 디자인을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 한국 민화 화조도를 결합한 크로셰 레이스 이미지에 레이저 커팅 기법을 접목하여 새로운 패션 디자인을 창출함으로써 독특한 소재 표현과 그 활용 가능성을 모색하고 패션 디자인의 표현 영역을 확대하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용으로는 문헌고찰과 선행연구를 통하여 크로셰 레이스의 개념과 기법, 특징을 알아보고 크로셰 레이스를 이용한 디자이너의 작품사례를 살펴 보았다. 또한 한국 민화의 화조도에 관한 고찰을 통해 화조화의 개념과 특징에 대해 알아보고 화조도 모티프의 미적 특성을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 주요 기법으로 사용된 레이저 커팅의 개념과 기법의 특징에 대해 알아보고 레이저 커팅 기법을 통해 표현 되는 투시성와 조형성을 살펴보고자 한다. 이에 레이저 커팅 기법의 다양한 응용분야 특히, 예술과 디자인 분야에서의 응용 사례에 대해 구체적으로 조사, 분석하고 패션 디자인에 나타난 다양한 모티프의 사례를 분류하여 분석하고자 한다. 인터넷 정보 사이트와 국내 국외 문헌, 패션 컬렉션 자료를 통하여 크로셰 레이스를 활용한 현대 패션 디자인과 레이저 커팅 응용 사례를 살펴보고 이러한 이론적 자료를 바탕으로 크로셰 레이스를 응용하여 그 이미지를 새로운 모티브로 재구성하여 레이저커팅 기법을 이용한 총 8벌의 의상을 제작하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 작품에 크로셰 레이스 이미지를 도입함에 있어서 매쉬 크로셰의 그물구조에 나타나는 다공성에 의한 화려함과 투시적 조형미를 표현할 수 있었다. 둘째, 서양 전통 공예 기법인 크로셰 레이스 이미지에 한국 민화 화조도를 포티프로 디자인된 문양을 도입함으로써 우리 고유의 상징성과 독창성이 담긴 새로운 시각적 효과의 소재 개발 가능성을 확인함과 동시에 전통의 현대적 활용이라는 의의를 가질 수 있었다. 셋째, 한국 민화 화조도를 결합한 크로셰 레이스 이미지에 레이저 커팅 기법을 적용하여 표현한 결과 한국적 미를 지닌 독특한 레이저 커팅 레이스를 창출할 수 있었으며 수공예적인 작업의 복잡한 공정과정을 거치지 않고도 섬세하고 정교한 크로셰 레이스 이미지의 표현이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 넷째, 레이저 커팅을 위한 컴퓨터 그래픽 패턴 제작을 위해 일러스트레이터 프로그램의 사용은 효과적이었으며 그래픽 작업의 정밀도와 정확성에 따라 레이저 커팅 결과물의 섬세함이 결정됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 한국 전통의 미의식이 잘 드러나 있는 화조도 모티프를 적용하여 크로셰 레이스 이미지를 개발하고 레이저 커팅 기법을 적용하여 우리 고유의 독창적인 크로셰 레이스를 제시하고자 한다. 아울러 레이저 커팅 레이스의 표현 가능성을 확인하여 레이저 커팅 기법이 주는 새로운 시각적 효과의 소재를 응용한 디자인의 활용과 이에 관한 다양한 소재 표현 기법에 대한 폭넓은 연구가 이루어 지길 기대한다.;Modern people wish to experience colorful combination, environment of combined variety, and higher level of concepts that mixed different cultures together. Fresh and unconventional individuality created by that unique combination has wonderful and beautiful value. The combination of various culture and skills creates new changes and expresses complex sensibility in modern fashion. As a result, various senses and unique material with different visual effects are created and technique development is being conducted constantly. Therefore, this study intends to use crochet lace images with exquisite handicraft artistic value which is appropriate for expressing fancy feminine sensitivity as the fashion design motif. Also, this study intends to suggest a new image by combining traditional Korean paintings of flower and bird patterns with strong symbolism and decorative feature in terms of expressing traditional Korean life sensibility and aesthetic sense to add aesthetic quality of crochet lace images with see-through and porous characteristics. To this end, this study intends to express delicate and elaborate images by using a contemporary technique, cut-out technique of laser cutting, and to suggest fashion design using materials with new visual effect. The purpose of this study is to search for unique material expression and its applicability and to expand the expression realm of fashion design by creating a new fashion design by grafting laser cutting technique on crochet lace images with traditional Korean paintings of flower and bird patterns. For contents of this study, the concept, technique, and characteristics of crochet lace were investigated through literature review and preceding research, and looked into designer’s work cases that used crochet lace. Also, this study investigated the concept and characteristics of flower and bird paintings through traditional Korean paintings of flower and bird patterns, and investigated aesthetic characteristics of flower and bird patterns. The concept of laser cutting and characteristics of the technique which was used as a main technique of this study will be researched and intends to investigate the see-through characteristic and formativeness expressed through laser cutting technique. Therefore, this study intends to investigate and analyze various application fields of the laser cutting technique, especially the application cases in art and design field, and to classify and analyze cases of various motifs in fashion design. Modern fashion design using crochet lace and laser cutting application cases will be investigated through internet information sites, domestic and foreign literature, and fashion collection data, and intends to produce total 8 outfits which used laser cutting technique by applying crochet laser and reconstructing the image into new motif based on the theoretical data. The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of applying a sense of space and the beauty of form created by mesh crochet, it was identified that it has differentiated strong characteristics of porosity and see-through feeling from other materials. Secondly, possibility of material development of new visual effects with our indigenous symbolism and originality was verified by introducing traditional Korean paintings of flower and bird patterns on crochet lace image, a traditional Western crafts technique, and pattern produced through motifs of flower and bird patterns is verified to be a precious data of the design development that connects the past and the present. Thirdly, as a result of applying the laser cutting technique on crochet lace images with grafted flower and bird patterns, it was possible to create unique laser cutting lace with Korean aesthetic beauty and to express delicate and exquisite crochet lace images without complex handicraft process. Fourthly, it was identified that illustrator program is effective in computer graphic pattern production for laser cutting, and determines delicacy of cutting that can be expressed according to the degree of precision and accuracy of graphic works. This study intends to develop crochet lace images by applying flower and bird patterns with traditional Korean aesthetic sense, and to suggest our indigenous crochet lace through laser cutting technique. Also, application of designs using new materials of new visual effects created through laser cutting technique, and extensive study on various textile expression techniques are expected to be conducted in the future.
